Those all sound like great recipes. Just make sure that you are still getting lots of protein, vitamins, fiber... you know, the essentials. Cereal and grilled cheese sandwiches do not contain what you need. Tofu has lots of protein, but perhaps your one of the millions who hate the stuff. Then there is peanut butter which also has lots of protein. A good way to tell if you are eating the proper vegetables is if they are very colorful. Also if you can try to stay away from the vegetarian things that contain lots of trans fats and many chemicals. Being a vegetarian is easy, once you get the hang of it. If you just eat healthy there will never be a reason to eat meat again.
Try making grilled vegetable wraps, they're quick and delicious.
1. Chop up bell peppers, onions, and tofu
2. Grill them on a grill pan with a little olive oil and then add a can of hot and spicy tomato sauce from picante
3. Then put everything in a warm whole grain tortilla with some goat cheese or chedder cheese or hummus and eat.
*Also try getting morningstar/boca veggie burgers and chicken patties*
Meatless tacos.
Cheese, lettuce, onions, sour cream, salsa, avocado and bean sprouts. Yummy and easy. I'm not a big fan of tofu but you could use that as your protien (meat)
Stir fry. Just slice up some vegetables (broccoli, mange tout, French beans, courgette, baby sweetcorn), add to very hot sesame oil and Chinese 5 spice for a couple of minutes, keep them moving.
.
smoothies!! Combine some fruits that you like and just mix and match and find out what kind of smoothies you like! Very cool and refreshing! You can eat fresh fruit and have Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches too.
you can make cookies on the weekend and snack on those or little snacks with fruit in them!
Apple pie is a good one just reduce sugar and butter and oils and such!
hope that helps!
This isn't a recipe exactly, but very fast and easy.
Get some BocaBurger burgers, or Morning Star Farms "grillers". They are fast, yummy and even your carnivore friends will enjoy your "hamburgers".
Have you tried tofu? Cut firm tofu into little cubes, sautee with any seasoning you like (chopped onion, garlic powder, sea salt, pepper, cumin, curry powder, chili powder, whatever.....) Tofu is very mild so will take on the flavor of anything you put with it. Scramble it like you would eggs, and any leftovers can be mashed and mixed with breadcrumbs or quick oats, mayo if you eat that, or vegenaise (vegen mayo) to create little tufu croquets. These can be either baked or fried.
Stuffed Mushrooms.
Get some of the large brown mushrooms and wipe the surface with a damp paper towel
Remove stems and dice. Add some diced onion and breadcrumbs, salt and pepper to taste and mix well. Use a little milk to help bind and pack on the gill side of the mushrooms.
Brush both top and bottom with oil and bake on a rack in the oven until they are hot
i like eat dog
i have seen many of the above recipes that look nice and should be tried. i don't know much about it but i'm just warnin you that you must be extremely catious because you can't eat too many vegetables with out the grains and beans because you can only get the neccesary protiens when putting them together. anyway, good for you and good luck!
Quesadillas are great. You can fill them with beans, cheese, and any veggies (spinach, peppers, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, etc.). Take 2 tortillas and put 1 in an oiled pan on medium heat, fill with cheese and toppings, cover with other tort, and flip it over when it gets browned and crispy on one side.
Pre-bagged salads are easy. Add chickpeas to your salad to make it heartier. Add fruit to it too. You will be suprised at all of the different combinations you'll enjoy!
Try a "pizza-dilla". Just follow the quesadilla recipe above, but use marinera sauce and mozzarella and mushrooms or whatever veggies! So scrumptious.
Buy Morningstar Farms frozen products---they are awesome! Try their black bean burger. The "buffao wings" are also great. Good on your salad too.
My daughter went vegetarian for a couple of months. One of her favorites was bagels with onion and chive cream cheese with cucumbers. Bagels have a lot of protein too.
The other thing she really liked was bean burritos.
Fresh fruit and That fruit dip is my fav! I love fresh veggies and fruits
The Morningstar products are delicious! The patties really taste like hamburgers, and the chik nuggets really taste like chicken nuggets. The frozen "ground beef" is wonderful for tacos and chili, too.
My daughter is also a vegetarian, and she doesn't like beans, so we're constantly trying to find new things for her to eat. Lately she's been on an instant oatmeal kick, so I buy lots of oatmeal.

You could eat some fruit and make fruit salads or vegetable salads. Fruits are good snacks and they help you stay healthy. Smoothies and granitas can help too and they're really easy to make. Hope this helps.
Pineapple Orange Granita
1 Cup Pineapple, Chopped
1/4 Cup Orange Juice
1 1/2 Cups Ice
Puree pineapple and orange juice in a blender. Add ice and blend until smooth. Use immediately or store in the freezer. For later use, remove from freezer and let thaw until soft enough to break up with a fork. Serves one.

Some vegetarian families (particularly Indian-Brahman or Gujarati) may be residing near by you. Contact them. Learn from such families. ones you develop test you will always relish veg.dishes. You will also enjoy the life. Don't have non veg. You may have a good book on the subject. You will find a positive change in you and your family members' life. Best of luck.I am far away otherwise I would have suggested good book.Bye.
If you like ethnic food, visit a local Indian restaraunt for ideas. Since a large percentage of Indians are vegetarian, the menu will have LOTS of veg options, like dal, roti, naan, paneer, etc. (Don't let the crazy food names fool you, it's all really simple food!) You'll be able to find lots of hearty, protein-rich options, most of which are made from items you'll be able to find in your regular grocery store.
i have been a vegetarian for years and over the years, i've basically just made up a bunch of things to put together- i love to cook and experiment so that helps. i have one that you can try. i chop up zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, and broccoli and i put them in a pot with some boiling water to make them soft and yummy. at the same time i also make white rice. after a couple minutes in the boiling water, the veggies should be done. drain them, put them in a bowl and put a little salt and pepper on them. when the rice is done, simply put the veggies and rice in the same bowl, mix them up and eat up. i've added different sauces to it over the years too. for instance soy sauce. or if you want to make a really good spaghetti sauce, just add those veggies to some cheap spaghetti sauce and pour over pasta- it's amazing!!!! i hope this works for you!!!
I'm a teen and I've been a vegetarian my whole life (meat has always just skeeved me out!) I just thought it was funny because I eat so much cereal and grilled cheese!! Anyways I love making peanut butter and grahm crackers into a sandwhich...its the best!! I also like to have hard boiled eggs in salad or sandwhiches or w/e because there a fast and easy way to get protein. I won't touch all those icky soy products and stuff NO one wants to eat those! LOL

Shame on you, child. A vegetarian lifestyle is NOT trendy. My best recommendation would be to buy yourself a nice rib roast, slap that baby in the oven, and please don't forget the gravy. Delicious. Your parents will be proud, I promise you.
don't starve yourself! LOL, I know what you mean.
Try the veggie burgers from Morning star. you can find them in the freezer section of your local grocery store.
The grillers and chicken patties are delicious and are "meat free".
Eat apple slices with peanut butter, they are a great snack.
Cashews and almonds are a great source of protein. and if you like, eat some vegetarian beans. You need your protein.
