Vegetarian??!
Vegetarian??
Ok so i've thought about becoming one a lot. I mean I love animals and going to the zoo or just traveling and seeing all the different animals. But then I think about going to those places and them not being there anymore and it's kind of depressing if you look at it that way. But then when you drive by a Mcdonalds, Dick's, Country Burger, Whataburger, Carl's Jr., or Jack and the Box. You see the meat and the hamburgers and just want one really bad. Plus it would be really hard to give up meat because my family eats it like 5-6 days a week. How can I stop those cravings and just really focus on the animals? plus how can i try to tell my parents about it, it would be kind of weird in my family? well thanks in advance!

It may not sound helpful now, but it WILL get easier. The first time I tried I only lasted about three days, but the second time I tried, well...I've been one ever since. I think that the first time you turn meat down will be the hardest time, and after that you will find it easier to refuse.
You can look at www.viva.org.uk aswell as goveg, they're both really good.
I think the reason I went veg was because I always thought 'i will be one day' but then I decided that 'one day' wasn't good enough, and my conscience got the better of me lol.
Good luck!
i didnt climb my way up to the top of the food chain to be a vegetarian!!! but if u want to be thats fine too.
Don't eat burgers! The burgers are made from body parts of the cow and when they pull the guts out the poop pours all over the meat!*gags*Take the veggie burgers from burger king!
It's not that hard actually. I've been through the same thing when I first started. Actually, you can order anything from those fast food restaurant and just ask them not to put any meat in it. For Burger King, Veggie burgers are available. If you are really an animal lover, go to www.peta.org every time you crave for meat. Tell yourself that those meat that you're about to eat was once a living creature that has feelings just like us. This could really help. Make sure you have enough daily intake of protein though. Protein is one of the 6 essential macro nutrient that your body needs to produce hormones, enzymes, repair of protein tissue. Congrats on the decision for becoming a vegetarian and good luck!

awesome site for help on going vegeterian
OMG, yes the veggie burger from Burger King is delicious. But you can find the exact same veggie burger in your local grocer. the brand is morning star and they also make great chicken patties. They come four to a box and run about $3-$4. I just caught some on sale, 2 boxes for $4.
The grillers by morning star taste just like a grilled burger!
Hang in there!
Taco bell,Subway, and Burger King are all pretty vegetarian friendly and are your best options for fast food.
Put animal crackers in their soup then watch them do the loop d loop.
eat less meats; do it gradually. you may want to become a vegetarian, but still find that you need meat but in a lot less quantity, perhaps never becoming a "strict vegetarian". everyone is different and because of that not every single person can be vegetarian. however, the less the better, but some meats are healthy in moderation if the meats are raised healthy. like salmon for example.
Morningstar and Boca burgers are both good veggie burgers in the freezer at wal mart that can help with cravings, and the veggie dogs are even better than some real ones my husband says (but only if not microwaved, we like them best boiled).
As for it being weird in your family, I was the only vegan in my family and it worked ok, it just means you'll probably have to make your own meals. If you're an ok cook tofu is good, if not you'll probably find it a pain. Other than that and faux meats you should definitely stock up on beans, nuts, whole grain breads and pastas, dried fruit, orange juice, spinach and other dark leafy veggies, and any other veggies you like (eggplant works well in pasta sauce/Italian dishes).

A Veggie Burger recipe from Burger King: Canned Pumpkin, Soya Sauce to taste, Oatmeal and wheat germ!
Mix all together form balls flatten and cook in oil!
Veggie burgers are $2.49 at many places. I gave recipe to an A&W and the said they'd make it if they had some canned pumpkin. They did but they charged $3.00! They said it was more effort so they can't charge less than what they charge for a meat burger! At least they didn't charge extra! Asking often gets one a nice surprise. I didn't even expect them to make the veggie burger!
