What tastes good on bagels besides cream cheese??!

Question:

What tastes good on bagels besides cream cheese??

I know it's a silly question, but I've recently taken up a vegan lifestyle and I'm trying to curb a craving for a bagel and cream cheese!

Answers:
try hummus, I'm not 100% sure it's vegan though.

Try butter, trust me I work at Dunkin Donuts

butter, but that wont help a vegan.
how about trying olive oil ? a nice high quality virgin.

bagels are not really good for you, might want to give them up as well. they are just a lot of dough.

I love butter and jelly. Perhaps a margerine will work as a butter substitute, then just choose the jelly of your choice...yummy! Also, peanut butter works too.

I love peanut butter on bagels! Hummus is also good, and you may want to try a rice or soy cheese substitute.

peanut butter, or butter and jelly soo good

You could make a tofu sandwhich spread or try a tomato sandwhich on a bagel. You might want to look into getting the Farm Cookbook, it is a vegan cookbook (except they use honey) and I think it is really good resource for simple vegan meals of all sorts.

Taylor ham, egg and Cheese is good on a bagel.

strawberry cream cheese
peanut butter
jelly
egg,bacon, and cheese

Try some spreadable veggie dip.

Hummus! If it's too savory though, and you want something milder, then you can go into the whole margarine+cinnamon+sugar or margarine+jam routines. My wife likes a hot blueberry bagel that she spoons yogurt on as she eats.

Also, there is this Tofutti brand called "Better 'n Cream Cheese" that really is very good, creamy and tasty. Check the link.

Well they make cream cheese alternative that is good, tastes just like the real thing, (I was never crazy about it in the first place though, so maybe I'm not the best authority on it)
Here is the link:

Also You could put vegan margarine on it, and a little olive oil with salt and pepper tastes good I guess.

Hope this helps.

peanut butter some days and just jelly the others. omg so good. i eat it all the time. :]

I love mine with vegan margarine and raspberry preserves. You may try the Tofutti "cream cheese" (I like this best with real berries, cooked with a little sugar and cooled, then stirred into the Tofutti cream cheese). It's not too bad. Nut butters are good, as are things like veggie pates or spreads.

Natural Peanut butter, the kind with just peanuts in, and honey, but the honey's not vegan.

I'm assuming a lot of people do not get the concept of being vegan... no animal products... no animal by products.... so eggs, or butter, or jelly are not good ideas, since they contain even trace amounts of animal products.

Hummus is a good idea, as is a fruit spread, smashed strwaberries, with just a hint of sugar mixed in, or a spread of olive oil and mashed garlic, or onion...

Pesto and roasted vegetables would be good for savoury.

Personally i love peanut butter & jam, u gotta try it on a freshly toasted bagel ! so nice :-)

Fresh Tomato

honey mustard

butter and jelly; or toast the bagel til it's super-crispy, break it into smaller pieces and dip into hummus
