Why is it alright to eat animals?!

Question:

Why is it alright to eat animals?

Animals feel hapiness and they feel pain. They are living, breathing beings. why do they deserve to die, so we can eat food that we don;t even need! Just because they are less intelligent, doesn't mean tehy should be killed. If human society was like that.....
by the way- a vegan's diet is healthier than that of an average carnivor's diet

Answers:
1. Humans are built to eat meat (as well as vegetables). For ex., we have heavy eyeteeth designed to shread the living daylights out of animals.

2. Many of us get physically weak w/out the PARTICULAR protein enzymes found in animal flesh.

3. It's expensive and time-consuming to acquire and keep a strict vegetarian diet (not to mention generally untasty)

4. Most veggies and vegans I know are unhealthy and eat unbalanced diet and get all teary over animals that would surely shred them to pieces if given the opportunity.

PS ... No Deb, you did did not respond to all arguments. You didn't respond to # 1, #2, or #3 (above). Also, you gave a misinformed answer as it regards #4. LOL!

Like because meat is good lol!!!!111one

Honestly, there is no reason for us to eat meat, we can get all the vitamins and proteins from plants and other sources found in nature. Prepare for stupid answers hun.

Edit: Didn't take long to see some REALLY dumb answers. The one I find the silliest is "plants are living too". They have no central nervous system, there for they don't feel pain!

Oh and someone said "We wouldn't survive without meat" um HELLO. I haven't eaten meat in four years, I'm still alive.

Vegetarians should go back to eating meat because they're overpopulated? You know why they're overpopulated? Because they are continually reproducing so all the meat eaters can get their yummy cheeseburgers.

NEXT?!

Well, I didn't have to wait long. Why is everyone saying "Other animals eat animals". She didn't ask why lions eat zebras. Re-read little darlings.

An animal getting killed by another animal would suffer worse? Um, have you seen the conditions animals are living in? I would go to peta.org (I do not support some of their beliefs but they do show proof in their videos) to see how nice (catch the sarcasm) they are treated in factories.

two words

food chain

guess who's on top?

because that is wat they r made 4 (2 eat)!

cows taste good. thats why.

Survival of the fittest.

Did you ask this of the lions, wolves, sharks, etc.?

I saw you swat that mosquitoe. I'm telling on you.

That is why I have been a vegetarian for 20+ years. I cant eat animals, I get along with them better than I do with most people!

Why do you think you have canine teeth? The pointy ones in front. They are for ripping into meat. Nature intended for us to eat meat as well as vegetables and fruit. If you wanna be a vegetarian, that's your call, but don't look down on people who don't share your views.

Well, here's my thought:

All animals go to heaven.

I guess it doesn't matter to eat a chicken....

right?

First, a vegeterian's diet is not healthier than a meat-eaters. That is false information. We need a certain amount of red meat. Secondly, we are by nature, omnivores... not herbivores. So, don't just ask humans why they eat meat. Ask the tigers, lions, wolves, and any other meat eaters out there. I am a firm believer in life and health of all creatures... but the sad truth is, something must die for us to live. It is the circle of life.

Why, because they provide nutrition. You know, plants are living things, too, but you don't mind eating them.

Actually, we need meat in ourselves. That's the whole point why animals are on this planet. God gave us animals to hunt, kill, and make meat out of them, so that we can survive. What if they're no animals on this planet. We would grow hungry, and die. Wouldn't be fun wouldn't it. But we can't eat all the animals, then what would happen in the future. The world would decrease of meat. It's good for you.

I hoped I helped

Good Luck!

hmm...i always thought of that so i asked my mom once and she said because even i we didnt eat any animals they would still be eaten by other animals who need them to survive so we really dont make a difference also she said sumthing bout us needing sumthing in them i didnt listen after the first part ...also the food chain

Because plants are people too and have feelings.

It is right to eat animals because if no one eat the animals the population will grow big and get so crowded. I think vegetarian need to eat meat because they need protein from animals

if it is healther good for you personaly im a omivor we raise animals for meat or companiship or for work it is that way it should be an has been for centuriey but by that same token if a certent percentade of animale are not killled and use then thire is overpopulation of one kind or a nother nothing go,s to waste and compleat,s the circle of life

animals eat other animals also. it's called the circle of life.
blood transfusion was tested on dogs. if u need surgery with blood transfusion, are u going to reject the life saving transfusion since we used dogs to test the procedures?

personally i wouldnt eat pork though, since pigs eat their own feces.

I am vegetarian for 17 years.
I do not believe it is alright for me to eat meat
However, I do think it is the way of the world for animals to eat other animals.
What I have the MOST difficulty with is the way we treat animals who are destined for food. Intensive farming, horrific slaughter practices (not to mention the horrific conditions migrants, illegal mexicans, prisoners and drug affected meat workers have to cope with).
What bothers me incredibly is that WE know what goes on inside intensive farms and meat works and the majority of the population still like to pretend their steak came from the supermarket or a nice green farm where the animals lived in comfort until one they were killed (and had no idea it was coming).

I have no respect for the average person who buys meat with no idea of it's origin. If you buy meat you condone so many immoral choices.

I urge everyone to get educated and then make the choice they want. Then I will have respect for the average meat eater.

Go see the recent movie Fast Food Nation!

do you honestly believe that if everyone in the world didnt eat meat that we would have enough of everything else for everyone. we are humans, we are suppose to eat meat, we have eye teeth as evidence. and btw humans arent the only animals that eat other animals. big fish it smaller fish. cats eat mice. lions eat zebra. are we going to start shaking our fingures at lions for eating that zebra. are we going to tell the lion "that zebra is a living breathing being and doesnt deserve to die?" no! that would be rediculas because the lion was ment to eat the zebra, just like humans are ment to eat cow. with todays technology we have the choice of not eating meat but the reality is we couldnt all do that.

most plants are technically living breathing beings. if you are going to use that arguement then we should try to survive off of dirt.

Well, first and foremost, God put everything on this earth for us to use and that includes eating animals. I don't know about you, but I would rather kill a deer with a gun and know that I am going to use it rather then me hitting it with a car and it suffering until it dies.

you need meat. because it gives you fiber and protein and YES a vegan diet it is healthier diet than a meat eaters but it shouldn't be about that.if you do eat meat then decide to eat LOW carolie stuff like lean meats, dairy products, and fruits + veggies. see there are many ways to eat healthy and still eat meat.
some stuff i don't do because cracking poor crabs legs is something i do not want to do. but i respect your decision.

I know that this doesn't answer your question, but those animals would not exist if it wasn't for the human need to have them exist. You maybe right it may in fact be better for them not to have an existence at all than to have one and then be killed for food.
But Nature can be cruel also.
And as mean it may seem , a chicken getting killed in by a natural predator such as a raccoon will die a worse death than if it was killed by a person.

We probably don't need to. There are plenty of legumes that can give us all the protein that we need.

But, I love my beef, chicken, fish, eggs, cheese, etc. Sorry.

Mmmk, where to start.

First, I have to ask, "carnivore"?

In the human race there is no such thing. We are, as Mother Nature intended, "omnivores". That means that we are built to eat anything, be it plant or animal so I am really lost on the "carnivore's diet" thing.

Now then, as such, we DO need to eat animals. Some nutrients that we require, although available in plant matter, are more easily digested and utilized when they come from flesh and muscle. That alone has been studied, proven, and taught in grade schools for decades. Your "healthier" is therefor negated.

So we move on, less intelligent and human society...

I have to ask you to think about something on these two.

When was the last time you saw a dolphin swim by a whale and shoot him for the color of his rag, or his skin?

Society IS like that, and yes! We are in most cases less intelligent.

I do say though, if you feel that munching vegan is what is right for you then by all means...GO FOR IT. The most important thing that a person can do in life is that which makes him or her feel the most happy.

Just remember though. Plant or animal, either way are living, breathing beings. No matter what you stick in your mouth, you've taken a life.

Whether it's plant life or animal life, life is life. ALL humans kill for nurishment, it's as simple as that. It's your right to be a vegitarian as it is my right to eat meat.
Deal with it!

Okay wait...I was just finishing the last bite of my grilled chicken....I'm sorry, what was the question?

Honey, if we left all the aminals alone, they would overtake us eventually, and I don't think any of them would be as sensitive to your feelings as you seem to be to them.

Human beings are omnivorous, and we have to have the protein that animals provide. If you want to take a vegan lifestyle, more power to you. I, however, like to eat a porterhouse steak from time to time.

The United States Department of Agriculture have set limits on animal slaughter, to ensure that it is performed in a humane fashion.

You PETA people will never get it.. and you'll never win your fight. It's kind of funny to watch you try though.

its not okay to eat meat.
vegitarianism or veganism is the way to go!
