Is it okay to eat vegenaise that has been left out?
I have been eating a lot of vegenaise on my veggie subs, etc.. It makes them taste better. I miss the fats I was getting from meat.
Okay, to make a long story short, I recently left a jar of vegenaise on the counter top with the jar opened. Vegenaise is expensive, so I didn't want to waste it. I put it back in the refrigerator and just kept putting it on my subs. One other person in my household put it on a sandwich and they got severe diarrhea, however, it is not making me sick. My bowels movements have been normal, not runny or anything. Since I am not getting sick, can I go ahead and finish this jar of vegenaise?

It doesn't have egg in it, so there is nothing in it to spoil and get rotten.

yeah as long as it doesnt have molds. maybe that was the first time your friend ate vegenaise that's why he got diarreah.
As far as what I could read on the site, it should be fine. It's best to keep it in the fridge. However, if you left the jar open, it may cause some contamination.
Your friend may or may not have eaten vegenaise before. They may be allergic to something that is found in the vegenaise, and don't know it, or the ingredient intensified at room temperature.
We bought some stuff with sesame in (no egg or milk) you may be allergic to that, FHG. You should get an allergy test just to find out in case you have any food allergies. Keep up the vegetarianism !!!
How long did you leave it out? I have a jar of that delicious concoction myself and it said to refrigerate ofater opening. Anything that says that indeed runs the risk of spoilage. I guess it depends on how long it was out.
Since you've been consuming it w/o problems, I think you're fine. My Nayonaise smells just like regular mayo, so I think I could tell by smelling it if it had spoiled or not. You may want to test it that way.
As for your friend, they may be allergic to soy or some other ingredient that it's the -naise that they may not have been exposed to before.
Good luck! :-)
no
maybe no..don't wait for yourself to be sick..pls..
I think you should be asking your G.P. bowels, diarrhea, sick..etc try medical?
Seen as you asked this question 5 days ago- my guess is that it would have gone off by now !!
Go for it.
