Veggie burgers without mushrooms?!
Veggie burgers without mushrooms?
i want to become a vegetarian (but not vegan). only problem is, is that i'm allergic to mushrooms. i want a veggie burger that won't land me in the ER. are there any that i can get at the grocery store that are mushroom-free?
thanks
Answers:
In most large grocery stores, you can find the 3 main brands. Although some of their burgers contain yeast extract. I'm not sure if this is a concern.
my top 3:
Gardenburger has many veggie-packed burgers. their "Sun-Dried Tomato Basil" is very tasty, and apparently mushroomless. They can be expensive though.
Boca has a wide range of veggie products. Their burgers are generally cheaper too.
Morningstar Farms is probably my favorite everyday veggie burger maker.
Of course, with so many stealth mushrooms out there, it's important to check the label carefully. Each of these companies has products with and without mushrooms. :)

Boil Potatoes .Drain the water and keep aside. Cook carrots, peas, beans ( cut in small sizes). Mash the potatoes canned chickpeas and add the cooked vegetables. CHop onions and garlic and shallow fry it. add the onion to the mashed potoato chickpeas and veggies. Add a spoon of cummin seeds, pepper, salt and lots of cilantro. Mix everything together.Make it into small balls and then into patties. Cover these patties in bread crumbs and dust any extra crumbs off. This could be either deep fried (for people who dont care about calories) or could be put in the oven for about 30-45 mins(until it turns brown). Trust me it is delicious. I came up with this recipe myself!! and Im vegetarian:)
