Anyone ever tried a cruelty-free, vegan or all-natural hair coloring product?
If so, what brand and color did you try, and were you pleased with the results?

This is an article from Vegetarian Times (page 4), so I would suspect most of the brands listed may fit your requirement. I use Herbavita/Herbatint hair products since I find the shampoo and conditioner to be very "pure".

I've tried henna, but it doesn't work that well. the one i use all the time and it's cruelty free is REVLON. it's not completely vegan but if you mostly care whether it's been animal tested, then this could work for you. it works for me.
henna, and it works best with light or lightened hair. I lighten my hair with lemon juice which I spritz on before I go working in the yard or basking in the sun : )
MY G/F is a buddhist and uses vegatable hair dyes. They won't make a woman with black hair blonde but if your trying to cover grey they work well. They don't chemically treat the hair so you have to do it every couple of weeks bu they look great. I think the product is henna based and they sell it in all the stores in Thailand for about 250 baht ($7) for two applications. I don't know the name sorry
I don't know about all- natural... but Manic Panic(I love it) is vegan and cruelty free... I've used it plenty of times, and it is really good. (of course most of the colors are actual colors...Red, blue, green, pink kinda stuff... But they do make bleach, black(raven), and browns(nefertiti, cobra).

If you just want color for fun .... http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:ejc... ........ OR http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:be5... ....but if you want serious color you should check with your local salons to see which ones carry and use vegan hair dyes and color .. the market ones that are vegan last a much shorter time and worse you must be careful you do not permently kill your folicles or you will over time lose a lot of hair forever ..
I use Herbatint, it's Vegan and cruelty-free. I dye my hair black and it looks nice and shiny and dark. It starts to fade after about a month, but that's usually when you have to dye it again anyway because of the roots. It's expensive but if you shop around at different health food stores you can find it for a reasonable price. It's definitely worth it!
Henna. You have to mix water and henna powder in an iron bowl and leave it overnight before applying.
You can also add red hibiscus flowers if available in your vicinity. But dont add them directly, boil water with those flowers, strain it and add it in the powder, instead of adding normal water.
Or, you can boil some tea or coffe powder in water, strain it and add that water to the powder.
This is normally the method of colouring hair, used by Indian girls. U can try it unless u want to colour ur hair in some golden or a ligher shade.
