Can i drink orange juice on a raw food diet?
like the kind from the grocery store? and for that matter, what about juicy-juice? plz dont answer if you are not a raw-foodist
Answers:
If the juice has been pasturized, although it's done that way to kill the bacteria, it's has been "cooked". A raw food has to not have reached more than 90 degrees or is it 120 degrees?
Well, I work at a specialty food store and to be honest it depends on how much of a "purist" you are. There are those who are relaxed who will drink prepared juices (so long as there's not specific additives or preservatives) and then there are the really hardcore who will go through the trouble of juicing themselves (literally). Most of those hardcore people have some type of juicer (yes...like the one in that horrible infomercial).
Most people I talk to who are very strict actually prepare every part of their diet (including pastas and staples) on their own. So, I guess it's a presonal preference on your part. Good luck!
If it's been freshly squeezed and not pasteurized. I don't think Juicy-Juice fits the bill. Why not just buy oranges and squeeze?
