Will being vegetarian make me lose weight?!
Will being vegetarian make me lose weight?
Answers:
no not really............its healthier too not eat meat
but its just as fattening too be a vegan as it is too not be
Probably, it depend on how much you eat.
eateing vegatables is a choice eateing meat is an instinct.
It will aide you in losing weight yes. You have to eat more veggies and fruits, and less junk food and sodium/salt. Don't forget to exercise too, and the weight should come right off. Good luck.
not really bread rice and tortillas all have carbohydrate's in them its really not going to help you at all just watch your carbs
It depends on how you eat as a vegetarian and how you were eating before. As an omni if you were eating large portions of red meat, junk foods, soda, etc. and now you are eating vegetables, beans, etc, and replacing junk with fruit you will most likely lose weight.
However if you replace an unhealthy meat eating diet with an unhealthy vegetarian diet you will not.
It all depends on the circumstances.
It might. It depends on what else you eat. Meat usually has a pretty high saturated fat content and fruit and vegetables don't. If you are omitting meat but replacing it with lots of bread and cheese though you won't lose weight.
of course----it's better than starving yourself and going anorexic
You sure can if you don't drown your salads in undesirable salad dressing-eliminating meat and sweets from your diet can permit you to lose weight.
no.meat gives you lots of protein to help you burn fat.hello.....exercise!!!
No. Eating fewer calories than you use will result in weight loss. You can still get plenty of calories without eating animals.
However, if you're changing your diet anyway, this might be a good time to commit to a healthier lifestyle including a well-balanced diet and daily exercise.
dont be a vegitarian just to loose weight just eat less meat {meat has more fat} and eat healther
like instead of eating a burger and fries try a baked potato with a side salad.because being a vegitarian is NOT EASY because at first you still want meat {depending on how strong you are mentaly} and every one else around you {most of the times} are eating meat
i hope i helped
Cutting animal fat from your diet is certainly healthy, but there are still lots of vegetarian approved foods that will make you fat if you don't practice moderation and caution.
Consider this: A single glass of wine, maybe two, is recommended by doctors for health. What happens if you drink too much? I think we all know. You get sick. Same thing with everything else on earth. Unless it's something poisonous a small amount is good, too much is bad.
OK. Vegetarians consume olive oil, avocados, and some of us (blush) are addicted to some products by Morningstar Farms. Now all of these products caontain certain amounts of fat. Not the artery clogging kind found in meat, but too much of it coupled with no exercise will make you just as fat. A gram of olive oil fat is still a gram of fat no matter where it came from, and it will make you fat, too.
I worked with a girl who was vegetarian years before I swore off meat myself. She had such a pretty face, but she was a little rounded. I was surprised to find out she was a vegetarian because I thought they were all teeny tiny people at the time. When I expressed my shock at her weight in spite of her dietary choices the vegetarian to whom I was talking said, "Yes, but she's a baked potato vegetarian." In other words she fills the meat gap with lots of cheese, fats and starches. Not a good way to go whether you eat meat or not.
I you're going to go veggie do it because the factory farms that make meat affordable are ruining the planet with their fecal waste. Do it because of the cruel ways in which those animals are raised before being put on the table. But don't do it expecting to lose weight unless you use good planning in your diet - same as you would if you were wanting to lose weight with an omnivorous diet.
Yes, without even trying. I stopped eating all meat except fish and I got slimmer. I eat even more ice cream and pasta then before and still lost more weight.
As long as you do not eat a lot of starchy stuff like potatoes and bread or candy, etc. Be sure to eat plenty of calcium and protein to balance everything. Good luck to you.
It depends. If you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian and really pack in the cheese and other dairy products (and egg yolks), you can gain alot of weight if not careful about it. I have been a l-o veg for several years, and that's exactly what happened to me. I'm starting on my journey to veganism and hope cutting out all the animal fat will help me shed some pounds. Just concentrate on eating plenty of veggies and fruits, and try out the meat substitutes to help you along. Also, don't let anyone tell you that being a vegetarian is hard... it's not, as long as you commit to it.
like the person before me said. if you're a lacto-oce vegetarian, you might gain a few pounds, but not necessarily. you can be extremely healthy, eat balanced meals, and you might stay the way you are, or possibly lose weight. now..if you're on the "coke and fries" diet, you're probably going to gain a couple pounds from all the carbohydrates you're taking in, and all the sugar, too.
just remember, vegetarians are USUALLY healthier than meat eaters.
