What is buttermilk??
Answers:
Buttermilk is the liquid left over from churning butter. Buttermilk in grocery stores is usually not real buttermilk. It is cultured buttermilk which mean it has lactic acid bacteria added to it. Cultured buttermilk is much thicker and tarter than regular buttermilk. Consuming buttermilk has been a redemy to coat the stomach to assuage an ulcer of the stomach.
Its pasteurized milk that contains some kind of (good) bacteria. You don't want to drink buttermilk b/c it's very sour. Although, buttermilk is great for cooking and baking.
