Unsulphured molasses??!
Unsulphured molasses??
I'm vegan and I was wondering if unsulphered molasses is considered vegan.
Any sources would be helpful!!
Thanks!

Any type of molasses is always vegan! It's made up of what was extracted from the sugar before the final bone char filtration to make the sugar white. Here's a link for you:

BTW; the difference between sulfured and unsulfured molasses is that sulfured molasses is made from green cane stalks and sulfur dioxide is used to sanitize the juice. Sulfured molasses is usually lighter in taste and color than the same grade of unsulfured molasses. (I got a few messages pointing me to your question and they wanted to know the difference)

Vegetarians do not eat fish. A fish eater is a Piscivore. Spread the correct word!

Molasses contains no animal byproducts like honey so you are safe.
Yes, it would be vegan. The only animal source used in the processing of sugar is "char" (animal bones) which is used as the final filtering process. Unsulphered molases comes from the third processesing of what eventually becomes white sugar. Its only in the final filtering stage that char is used. ,
no it doesn't come from an animal but you can eat it or not that is up to you
unsulphured molasses is excellent for increasing the iron needed for your body. It is excellent for vegeterians.
