Although not all animal rights devotees trust 100% in PETA, everyone has got to admit these guys are doing a really good job of spreading vegetarianism.
They're not perfect, but to be honest, the perfect organisations most people find too overkill. PETA come across as approachable, sassy, trendy even!
I think they've done some excellent work. They're so right on track by involving celebrities. It's often the best way to reach people who might not ordinarily stumble across vegetarianism/veganism by their own means.
Oh yes, 100% there. I am very against the killing of animals for food.
I think what they have done to save animals from being cruelly treated, as well as the information that they have made public, is awesome. Sometimes, though, their actions are so extreme that I find it hard to align myself with them. I think that when you confront a heavy issue, like animal cruelty, you have to remain firm and stand your ground, but stay calm. If you get lost in the passion of it, you've lowered your credibility and lost your voice.
Yes, even from Australia we can see that PETA do a great job of raising awareness of animal abuse.
Their current campaign against a circus company in the US who are abusing their animal performers is being very well run.
I am a paying member and supporter of PETA. Anyone who cares about animals should check them out.
PETA are the f**king most hypocritical a**holes on the planet.
i love eating meat, i don't hunt and have no interest in killing animals, but if PETA had it their way there would be no zoos, no slaughter house and therefore meat, no animal testing, no circus animals and no pets. Basically we would have equal rights to that of animals! why not just allow them to vote or have our civil rights? God i hate PETA, animals are there to eat as an essential part of our diet (the consumption of meat was important in the development of human intellegence) you can't make a lion a vegitarian. We test on them so that human being are given the chance to live through new treatments for disease, if this were to stop so would scientific progress in the field of biology and medicine.
They condone violence as a means to get there point across, so basically they will hurt people and go as far as killing us, but not hurt animals, no no that would just be cruel. they even go as far as to compare the animal plight to the jews in concentration camps, those a**holes.
they have violent protests against animal shelters because animal shelters euthanise animals, though sometimes thats the only option, animal shelters dont want to do this though they have to because animal can just be let off into the streets. people just don' care enough to adopt the animal.
Anyway here is my biggest argument against PETA, they took over 2,145 pets in 2005 and only 146 were adopted guess what happened to the other animals, yes by PETAs standards they were murdered, thats over 90% murdered in cold blood!!! more then that of the animal shelters who the violently protest. From 1998 PETA have killed animals ranging from 72% to 90% of animals rescued, what hypocritical a**holes.
boycott PETA they are idiots and are just fighting a cause that is not needed. i know that some people mistreat animal though that is why the government has legislation against such act so they can prosecute those involved.
You can't tell me none of the PETA members have benefited from medical science which have developed because of animal testing, yet they neither disaprove or condone arsen and the destruction of research centres who are there to save you life.
i would kill a hundred animals if it meant saving the life of a loved one.
