Yesterday I posted a pretty ignorant question.?!

Question:

Yesterday I posted a pretty ignorant question.?

First off I have to apologize, second I just want to say I have and still watching some Peta videos. Honestly truthfully, my stomach is completely turned and I am so disgusted at the way thes animals are mistreated. The thoughf of a chicken never once touching ground its entire life is sick...

I can go on ...but it is gross and it makes me want to cry.

I wanted to say sorry to anyone I offended yesterday. Without people telling me the truth I may have continued to be fooled by my own ingnorance.

I think before anyone else that has a problem with people opionin maybe they should picture the dog or cat or whatever being tortured to eat. Before you judge!!!! I think if you look at the videos which there is no way that they could have been dubbed or fake. Aside from the mistreatment, the illness that is festering in those enviroments is enough to make someone ill. I for one will seriously consider not eating that stuff anymore and thinking of other ways to eat. However, fish will be difficult, that will have to be later on. But, I don't think I could ever eat another chicken, pig, or cow after watching and if you doubt me take a look for yourself.

pattiof, I dont think your q was ignorant, you simply asked because you wanted to know, unlike some other people who come here just to criticise us. Im glad you saw those videos. They are all real, and theres much more available on the net. But I think for many of us, one of those clips is enough to never have another hamburger again.

Many people dont really know what goes on in slaughterhouses, when they say it's "natural" to eat meat. There is nothing natural about torturing another living being for profit.

It's very humble of you to apologize and change your mind. A change of mind is the harderst part with us humans.

edit; Jeff, what does that have to do with anything? PETA as an organisation is far from perfect, but those video clips where animals are being tortured are real. Are you saying they are not? It can be easily arranged to visit a slaughterhouse if you have any doubts-

wah wah wah ....
cool, believe all that PETA crap - more chicken nuggets for me!

Accepted

It's true some animals are treated like crap-but i hate to say it i still eat meat. I'm sorry, i think they should pass laws to change the treatment of animals but i won't stop eating meat.

I watched the PETA videos too and they made me cry also, but then some people on here told me that PETA was a bad organization and they cover up stuff. I don't know how true it is, but those movies are very sad and made me think twice about eating meat (although I still do, but not very often).

This is not a question. You should have posted that on your "pretty ignorant question"

Really it is okay... I think that it is really nice of you to apologize. And I am glad that one more persons eyes are opened to the truth of what goes on within meat/ dairy/ egg industry.
Don't hesitate to ask questions about vegetarianism in here, you'll get tons of useful information.

No prob

It is nice of you to apologize. Another really nice thing to do would be to spread the word.

The animals and I thank you ;)

Hey, I think it's really cool that you watched the videos. 90% of the people I talk to and tell about the videos, they just continue in their blind beliefs without looking at any other perspectives. It's nice to know that there are people who can admit their faults.

Whatever choice you make after seeing those videos is up to you ... it's what made me go veg and I don't regret it at all. :)

PETA - People for the Eating of Tasty Animals. Instead of watching PETA commercials, try doing some real research on PETA, and get back to us.

Thanks for the apology.

Yeah, I can't even sit through a PETA video. I'd probably cry my eyes out.

Georgiagrits has not watched the vid then!! Meat production is cruel, selfish and unhygenic. What right do we have to eat them as food? None!! I'm a vegan !! I do not own pets even - the cats in my house clearly own me !!

I did not see that post you are referring
too but would like to say kudos to you
for your sensitivity. I'm glad the videos
impacted you. I wish you the best.

Well good thing you didn't see the pictures of the dog and cat meat market. You might have barfed.

Well maybe someday Peta will apologize to you for badly misleading you with lies and half truths. I doubt it. They can't even tell the difference between whats real and whats not anymore. Do yourself a favor. Visit a meat packing plant for yourself. See the reality for yourself. See everything firsthand.

Don't be "spoon fed" information. If it was really that bad meat packers would have a hard time finding people to work. It would be easy for Peta to get someone hired in a packing plant to create a bad situation to be filmed.

Research on your own can go along way towards an intelligent decision.
