It's been a week that i'm a vegan, is anyone else new to this too?
It is the best decision I've ever made, finding out the reason to be a vegan is the 2nd best thing from loving God.
Now the question, is there any side effects to a beginner vegan? I noticed I go to the bathroom more and sometimes I even feel bloated. Is this normal? What other things are there to look for?

I am not new to this (vegan 25 years and vegetarian 10 years prior) ..so first CONGRATULATIONS!! it is such a great feeling both inside and out ..which brings me to the next part .. when you become vegan , you are going to find that your body will begin to rid itself of its pollutants .. and it will go through many changes which can cause temporary bloating ..do not worry this will all pass depending upon your age and what you ate before.. last I want to say that vegans "do not" have excess gas .. I know many meat eaters that have terrible gas and odors .. I do not not have this problem at all!! do not gobble food as taking in extra air in one cause of gas ...... carbonated drinks are another and some veggies are but your body over time will adjust to them ..so just put that out of your mind .. but you may find stuff and smells at first coming out of you that you have never experienced before and you may go more often as your body starts to work at its proper capacity ..... ....... eat well and be well

Sorry, not new but I'm a vegetarian (can't quite commit to veganism yet).
I didn't really notice any side effects. I did crave chicken for a few weeks after I first became a veggie, but that quickly subsided. I did go to the restroom a little more regularly, and I think it was because I cut out all the grease and started eating healthier.
total veggie diet causes gas...warn your friends and family...
I have been doing it for a couple of months. Aside from feeling better overall, I haven't had any of the side effects you mentioned.
The only possible exception is on days when I eat alot of tofu. I tend to feel bloated on those days. Someone also mentioned to me that some people experience digestive problems when they become vegan because they have a slight allergy to soy.
Congrats! I have been a vegan for about a year (although I cheated sometimes during that so I'm not sure if I can really consider it a full year.) I noticed a few side effects at first. I went from eating all junk food to eating all healthy plant based foods so my stomach had to get used to it. Once I did (took about a few weeks or so) I feel SO much better and healthier than I ever have in my life. Definately worth sticking around. Good luck! :)
I'm a newbie! Well man did i read up on it! You somethimes get bloated and when you see meat your pulse starts racing. Did you know that vegetaruians have a lower risks of colon, prostate, and rectal cancer. and high cholasterol.
Hey, congrats on becoming vegan! I am not a vegan but a vegetarian myself and have been for three months now. I personally haven't had any side effects, just feeling better healthwise since I stopped eating meat. I did notice though that the sight or smell of meat really turns me off.
