Does this make me sound weird.?!

Question:

Does this make me sound weird.?

I have been reading question after question, and the more and more I read the less and less I ever want to eat meat and the more and more I feel guilty........

Answers:
No. That is normal. Even though I have been vegan
for over two years I still feel contrite and sorry about
all the callous hearted things I've done in the past
concerning animals. Keep working at going veggie
and you will feel better. Also as another user stated
you might want to read Slaughterhouse by Gail Eisenitz.
That will strengthen your resolve.

A phase would be your answer, i guess!!

I think everyone has this battle at some point in their life and it does not surprise me the more you read about meat, the less you want to eat it. There is a GREAT book out right now called "Omnivores Dilemma" by Michael Pollan. Read that and then make your decision. I'm a chef and for me, I don't eat much meat because I work with it extensively and at the end of the day, I really enjoy Cherrios or a big salad, but when I do eat meat, I seek out grass fed, hormone free meats from local farmers. Read the book and decide for yourself. Email me if you have questions.

No, you don't sound weird to me.Unless I'm weird.....

yes

no...that 's good thing...
being a vegetarian is all around goodness...good for your health, good for the animals, and good for the environment. You should be one, too. Or at least try it. It's nt bad once you are already one...actually, you feel better...

U dont soun weird 2 me it just a normal feeling.I think it is better u bcome a leaf eater.

Do you mean you won't like the idea of eating dead animals ?
If you want to get the real feeling about it, when someone asks you what you're having for dinner, answer , " We're going to eat a dead chicken ".
Actually, that's what you're going to do, but it doesn't sound very appetizing.

good, keep reading, the truth is there for those that want to open thier eyes.

A veggie diet is a perfectly healthy way to live a cruelty free life.

It doesn't sound weird to me - I felt exactly the same way!
When I first learned about meat and how it is raised and slaughtered I felt like an idiot. I felt like I had been deceived by the meat industry and our culture into thinking that meat was normal and natural when the truth was nothing close to that. For me, ignorance is not bliss.
I felt alot of guilt too but guilt doesn't help anyone or the animals. The best way to counter the guilt is to become a healthy, positive example of a vegan (or vegetarian).
I have read and answered quite a few of your questions on here and I would also be happy to answer any other questions via email! I have been a vegetarian/vegan for over 14 years so I have alot of experience!

No, its not weird at all. It just means you are keeping an open mind, and learning about the benefits of being vegetarian. I am please to see someone open to the topic-most people just blow it off, stick their heads in the sand, and pretend that all is well in the meat industry, and that nothing will stop them from eating their beloved meat. Good for you, for at least paying attention. I stayed blissfully clueless for many years before I learned the truth. Good luck, whatever you decide. Feel free to email me if you need any one on one support, if you decide to go veggie

I think that if you eat meat, and you enjoy it, and understand what is on your plate, then that's fine. I couldn't deal with the fact that I'm eating an animal, that was killed because I simply like the taste of it. But that's just me.

We all make decisions in our lives, and we have to live with those decisions, and if you can, then you have nothing to worry about.

If your feeling guilty do some research and figure out if becoming a vegetarian or a vegan is what YOU want. Don't let our questions and answers sway you one way or the other.

Today I received my congratulations from PETA that I have been a vegetarian for one month, it felt really good, and I'm going to keep going. The truth is that once you feel passionate and believe in the cause, you will feel great about yourself and your decisions. As far as being weird, nope not at all, your just open to different lifestyles, if anything that makes you unique.
Hope I helped.

That doesn't make you sound weird...at least, not to most of us because we went through the same thing. ;-) It is really hard (and nauseating) to face the truth about the way animals are treated, not just for their well-being but for your personal health. I agree with the person above who suggested Omnivore's Dilemma -- great book. You might also want to read Fast Food Nation.

No your not wierd but plants live too.....

have you read the book "Slaughterhouse"? If not, you have not yet begun to read.

No.

What makes you sound weird is the word "guilty". If you don't want to eat meat, don't. If you do, do. But don't buy into this "guilty" crap.

Same here. Been sitting here for hours absorbing all this info...dying to try out these new recipes and stop eating animals. Read this awesome book. I PROMISE IT'S A QUICK READ: Skinny B i t ch
