In NY there is a place called Zen Palate. It is excellent...
There was a really great vegan restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale called Sublime, but I'm not sure it's open any longer. I think it sustained some pretty heavy damage during one of the big storms.
EDIT: Well, their website is still up and looks current. www.sublimerestaurant.com I loved the food and the atmosphere.
Hare Krishna temples in some places serve up some awesome vegetarian Thanksgiving meals (not sure if they're vegan or not). They also may have a restaurant associated with the temple.
