"People who don’t eat red meat but do eat chicken or fish are making a very important first step, but they aren’t vegetarians. We usually call such people meat-reducers."
~The Vegetarian Society

...If someone does feel the need to use the "P" word, they need to know that it is no kind of vegetarian. Vegetarians do not eat animal carcass.

Pescatarian?
I don't know for sure, but I think it has something to do with only eating seafood or fish...
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know too much about this yet.
it's a pescetarian - a vegetarian who eats fish.
a vegetarian eats no animals. a vegan eats nothing from an an animal eg. cheese, eggs, milk
you may be thinking of a pescatarian (sp?). sometimes folks that eat fish use that term if they would like to be described as one that eats no two- or four- legged friends.
loonatarians
it would be a vegetarian, they only eat seafoods, fish, chicken, fruits and vegetables no red meats at all.
People who eat only plant products, but no animal products are called vegans or vegetarians.
Here's some other variations:
Ovo-vegetarian: eat eggs and plant products only
Lacto-vegetarian: eat dairy products (cheese, milk, etc.) and plant products only
Ovo-lacto-vegetarian: eats eggs, dairy and plant products only
Eggs and dairy products are made by animals - so you're not a total vegetarian by eating these.
A vegan is a true vegetarian because they do not consume ANY animal products.
Even if you don't eat red meat (like beef) and you eat other meat products like chicken or fish - you're still eating an animal, so you're a carnivore.
Well, i guess these are what they are called;
Vegetarian― a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.
Vegan― a vegetarian who omits all animal products from the diet.
Other practice that are associated with vegetarian:
Fruitarianism is a diet of only fruit, nuts, seeds, and other plant matter that can be gathered without harming the plant.
Macrobiotic diet is a diet of mostly whole grains and beans, though it allows the consumption of fish.
Natural hygiene in its classic form recommends a diet principally of raw vegan foods.
Raw veganism is a diet of fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, and vegetables.
Freeganism ― argues that all commodities produced under capitalism, not only those from animal sources, contribute to exploitation and avoid buying anything, including food. Freegans thus focus on acquiring foods and other commodities by means other than purchasing, including foraging for wild plants and gardening with intent to cause as little violence and ecological destruction as possible through their consumption. While many freegans are vegans or vegetarians, others will eat animal products that would otherwise go to waste on the belief that doing this does not encourage further animal exploitation.
Terminology related to vegetarianism is not universally accepted. All definitions agree that vegetarians do not eat "meat", but some interpret "meat" to include only mammals or to exclude fish and/or shellfish. These distinctions have led to the following diets and terminology:
Pescetarianism (sometimes called "Pesco-vegetarianism") ― A diet in which the only animals consumed are fish or other seafood.
Pollotarianism ― A diet in which the only animals consumed are fowl.
Flexitarianism ― A diet that consists primarily of vegetarian food, but that allows occasional exceptions.
a person who doesn't eat meat but everything else is called
a "pescarian".
if they still buy fish they are pescivores. vegetarians dont eat any fish, poultry or meat and vegans dont eat the above or animal by products.
Well, you would be called a vegetarian but not a whole one. If you eat seafood, chicken then you are a vegetarian but not a full one.
semi-vegetarian
I think it's a vegetieran. I am a 25 percent meat eater since our buget allows the meat but, I don't like eating it every single time. I am mostly is a veggie lover meaning vegeterian but avoiding meats the best I can. I am hoping in the near future I can get rid of the meat.
