1 1/2 cups rajma (red beans or kidney beans)
1/4 cup channa dal (bengal gram)
1 chopped onion
4 garlic cloves
1/2 tablespoon ginger
1 cup chopped tomatoes or 3/4 cup tomato puree
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon dhaniya powder (coriander)
2 green chilies
salt
1 cup butter or ghee
fresh cream (4/5 tbsp)

Soak dal and red beans over night and
boil with water ,turmeric powder and salt, until the dal is soft(pressure cook).
Chop the onions, Ginger (Adrak), green chilies and tomatoes.Fry all together in butter/ ghee until turn brown.
Add chilli powder,dhania powder towards the end.You will get a batter like consistency.
Then add the boiled dal and red beans and allow simmering for 5 to 7 minutes.
Finally add cream slowly and mix well.
Adjust salt and add 1/4 cup water if consistency is too thick.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot with naan.

1 cup Urad dal(saboot)
20 Red kidney beans(rajma)
1 tsp. red chilli powder
1 tbsp. refined oil
1/2 tbsp. finely chopped ginger
6 flakes of garlic
1 finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp. garam masala
1 tsp. dhania powder
4 tbsp fresh cream
1 tbsp. desi ghee
1 tsp. cumin seeds
pinch of asfetoida powder
salt to taste


1. Soak dal and rajma overnight.
2. Put oil, ginger, salt in dal and boil the dal for 30 minutes.
3. Put desi ghee in a pan heat it and add cumin seeds till they start sputtering, then add asfetoida powder, garlic and fry till brown.
4. Now add onions and fry them until brown.
5. Add garam masala, red chilli powder in the pan and switch off heat. Add to the cooked dal .
6. Finally add cream to the dal and mix it in dal slowly.
7. Garnish it with coriander in the end and serve hot.

Dal makhani recipe is one among the many popular Indian food recipes that find a special place for themselves in almost every home. Cooking Time: 1 hour
Ingredients
50g (soaked) whole black beans
1 tablespoon coriander leaves
10g (soaked) rajma
10g (soaked) channa dal
1-tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
30g yogurt
50g blanched chopped tomato
1/2 small onion (chopped)
Salt
Red chilly powder
Method:
Take the pulses and clean them properly.
Add water, salt, chili powder, ginger garlic paste and cook in pressure cooker for about 40 minutes or till the dals get cooked.
Mash the dals and leave on low flame, so that the pulses get properly mixed.
Add the beaten yogurt and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Take a pan and heat a tablespoon of water. Add onions and cook till they soften.
Add chopped tomatoes, chilly and little salt. Stir for about 5 minutes.
Add this mixture to the dals and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Garnish makhani dal with coriander leaves and then serve it hot.

method
soak dal n rajma overnight or for 5 hours.Pressure cook dal rajma preferably in same water it was soaked in, ginger garlic paste salt together for 30 mins.
Heat ghee ,add tomato puree n cook till ghee separates n it turns thick. Add red chilli pwd n cook for 1 min. Pour dal n rajma to this mixture. Let it simmer for sometime. you can add extra water if the dal is thick and simmer again. garnish it with cream n butter and coriander . Serve hot.
Dal makhani tastes better next day.
