Which is the best animal rights Charity?!
Which is the best animal rights Charity?
I have heard some bad things about PETA including that they kill exponentially more animals than even the kill shelters do. It is because of this I am looking for a true blue animal rights charity. Any sincere suggestions would be appreciated.

I like to give to my local animal rescues. You can find no kill shelters, but they worry me too. You could just cry seeing some of the animals they keep alive, and I sometimes consider it it be cruel. I know I would want to die if I were a couple of the animals I saw.
Talk to them about their kill policies and find a shelter you feel best helps and cares about its animals.
Anyway, they always need money for spaying and neutering, paper towels, cleaners, pet food, litter, cash and even people willing to spend some of their time to help.
It may not mean much on a global level, but I'm sure it means a lot to those animals and to those people who work really hard to give them a nice place to stay.
I know my local animal shelter spent a lot of time fund raising for an outdoor room for all the cats to play in and hang out on cat trees. Before they only had a little indoor room and it wasn't much fun for the kitties.

FARM SANCTUARY
PETA doesn't kill more animals than kill shelters do! They do sometimes take the wrong approach to animal rights, but they don't kill animals.
Anyways, I don't wanna get too many thumbs down, so I'm not going to rant about how great PETA is.
So, I agree with the fist person. Farm Sanctuary is awesome.
You know the old adage "charity begins at home"? I suggest you start your campaign for animal rights in your own area. First, be sure your own pets are spayed or neutered. Next, volunteer at and donate to your local animal shelter. If you have considerable funds available for donating, maybe you could talk to a shelter or vet about sponsoring a few animals for spaying/neutering.
I have to agree with Lilyian! I like donating to my local places - we have a local organic farm and I give them 50.00 a year.
*Hey I am a tarot reader supporting a family of three - there's not a lot of money to be given ;)
