What are the nutritional implications if I become vegetarian?
Answers:
none, you will get all your nutritional needs from a balanced diet of fruit, cereals, pulses, nuts and veggies.
simple
I've been veggie for 27 years and have no healthy, strength or well-being problems, i take no suppliments and am never ill....and no, i'm not a pale faced person who sits in an office all day, i own an arable farm so am quite used to a decent dose of manual work.
None if you eat a balanced diet, I've been a veggie for 4 years now and I feel no different to what i did before, people are always saying I don't look like a veggie(they think we're all pale), I eat a very balanced diet, lots of green veg, quorn if I need meat for a dish etc and lots of fruit, being 'deprived' nutritionally because you're a veggie is a myth - that applies to anyone who doesn't eat a balanced diet.
as long as you make sure you eat the right things there is almost NO difference to eating meat
Often ppl like me who r vegetarian have lack of iron in thier blood. It is also coz i dont eat meat which provides me iron but also coz i dont eat any veg or fruit wich provides me iron.
Honestly speaking there is no much difference in eating meat or being vegetrian in terms of health. But you should eat everything rather by just sticking to few veg n fruits.
Shoudl have varied stuff. I use to eat meat but then turned into non-vegetarian....
Indian Paneer or Contenental TOFU miht be helpful for u for using it as an alternative for Chicken or meat!!!
Good luck!!
Depends on the diet. Vegetarians tend to rely more on vitamin suppliments than meat eaters, particularly iron, iodine and vitamin B12 as well as omega-3 fatty acids. Veggie diets are higher in vitamin C though and can be, although not always higher in vitamin A. There is a habit, particularly by teenagers, of simply excluding foodgroups that do not follow a vegetarian diet: unfortunately they need to be replaced by something that has similar nutritional benefits otherwise you put yourself at risk of various preventable conditions such as anemia
There are two amino acids (proteins) that are not available in Vegetarian cuisine, and these amino acids are not able to be assimilated by the human body.
The human is an omnivore - we are naturally equipped to ingest animal and vegetable matter. Look at our teeth - we have powerful incisors specifically designed for rending meat, and our stomachs naturally produce hydrochloric acid - rewuired exclusively for the digestion of meat.
Unless you have life-threatening objections to eating meat, fish, eggs etc, do not become vegetarian. You will impair your body if you do so.
You may suffer from anaemia (iron defficiency), if you don't get enough vitamin C. The body can only absorb iron from red meat, however with vitamin C it can absorb it from any iron rich food. Iron supplements are available, if you're worried though, I take them, just in case!
And to the guy above me (and a little reassurance for you): It is true that vegetarian food doesn't often contain all essential amino acids, unlike meat. However, foods like soya, quorn, tofu and other mycroproteins contain all the essential amino acids and are considered "complete proteins" like meat and dairy. Oh, did I forget, vegetarians = can eat dairy. Dairy = Lots of protein!
Vitamin B12 is the one that I would recommend to you: either in the form of yeast extract (eg: Marmite) or a supplement.
This vitamin is used by the body for the absorbtion of Iron which can found in Dark Green Leafy Vegetables (eg: Kale, Spinach), Broccoli and there is also some in dried fruit. So far as I am aware , B12 is necessary for the absorbtion of Iron. I was Vegan when younger and the literature I read then stressed this pretty strongly.
Provided you know how to do it right you will be healthier than if you ate meat.
If you eat a well balanced diet, you will be healthier. There is no need to take multi-vitamins(although most doctors recomend them on any diet) If you are eating/drinking dairy products than you wont have a prob with b12, iron is found in plenty of foods, eating it with something rich in vitamin C will help the body absorb it better. You'd be surprised how much and how many plants contain iron.
Expect your risk of certain cancers, and heart disease(accoring to the American heart association) to go down.
you will lower your cholesterol and saturated fat intake and will have a lower risk of getting cancer, becoming obese, and having heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, asthma, and impotence (if you are a male). your immune system will also become stronger so you will be less prone to illnesses like the common cold. you may live longer, and there has been some evidence that vegetarians are smarter than those who eat meat. this is, of course, controversial. =)
You will become pale and wimpish.
None, there are only benefits. Humans were never meant to eat meat. Eating meat is for murderers.
there arent any. protein is not a big issue most people get too much of it. Watch your iron though thtas still not very hard to get, especially if you eat dark green stuff.
The only difference i know of is that you are healthier. People worry far to much about nutrition. Eat well and you will be fine.
Please consider going raw, being a raw vegan.
The nutritional mplications f going raw is that instead of only taking in 1% of the nutrients in your food you will take in 95%. Your health will improve far beyond anything you ever dreamed possible. You will be happy for no reason all the time and you will enjoy your food more than ever before.
Raw vegans eat amazing food created from raw vegan food like lasagna, soups, pizza, puddings, cakes, pies, biscuits, patties, chili. Raw vegan food is far better tasting than any cooked vegetarian or vegan food I have ever eated. I was vegan/vegetarian for 10 years, raw vegan for two years.

theres a chance you could become anemic, you need red meats for the iron. or you could eat plenty of green leaf veg. or you can get tablets of iron (but they stink to high heavan!!!)
