What brand(s) of makeup can I buy that that does not test on animals?
Or use animals in their product. What about soaps, deoderants, and other items as such?
Answers:
For actual vegan makeup (no testing AND no animal flesh) go here.

If you have a decent health food place near you, they may carry some of these brands.

Eco Belle
Beauty Without Cruelty
Zia
Zuzu Leux
I have actually ordered makeup from this site, and I have not been disappointed.

_________
For soaps and shampoos, good vegan brands are
Kiss My Face and
Jason.
They can also be found on that site and sometimes in large grocery stores that have separate, organic sections.

You can go to the PETA site and download or send for an important document: PETA's Cruelty-Free Pocket Shopping Guide
Products can even be ordered from the PETA Mall.
I use a few different brands. Zuzu Luxe, Zia, Lavera, and Ecco Bella. You can find them at health food shops and supermarkets like Whole Foods and Wild Oats. Some of Ecco Bella's blushes and lip colors contain carmine. Since they use the same labels for all of the blushes, they all say they contain carmine, but only certain colors do. You can find out which ones along with other vegan brands of makeup, soaps, and deodorants at these sites below. A big brand in the UK is Beauty Without Cruelty for makeup and Lush for everything else. :-)
I use Clinique. They are the best! For soaps, deodorants, etc I use Kiss My Face. They rock! :)
the body shop .. cruelity free and free trade labor aproved products
i only know one product and it is caled loarea.
Kiss My Face makes an awesome line. It's much cheaper than most vegan/vegetarian cosmetics and they offer a full line from lotions to lipstick, etc.
I bought some and I'm hooked! The lotion works WAY better on my SEVERELY dry skin than the Vaseline brand I was buying before. I also got their tinted moisturizer (like a concealer) and it covers as good or better than your typical name-brand concealers. It also really evened out my skin tone to where I hardly ever need to wear it anyway!
They sell it direct from their site (www.kissmyface.com) but I actually got it cheaper at my local co-op. Not all their stuff is vegan, but it is all vegetarian. A few products use honey or milk.
Oh... and PETA has a list on their site of cruelty free cosmetic & personal care companies. Almay is one of the national brands that doesn't test on animals... but that doesn't mean there isn't animal products IN it (I don't know if there is or not... but there could be).
