beans still have carbs, in a few its not a big deal but if each bean has, say 5 carbs [gum has 5-10] and in each handfull you get 20 [im going by the size of a peanut] and you take 5 handfulls then that adds up to approx. 450 calories.

it's protein... just make sure that you're getting what your body needs and you should be fine

But beans are good for you, they have protein and fiber, so go ahead and eat them. Beans don't have that many calories, so you should be fine.
(Unless you're talking about something like baked beans... they've got alot of sugar and if you're watching your weight you shouldn't eat alot of them.)
