Soy and the effects on short term memory?!

Question:

Soy and the effects on short term memory?

A college friend of mine told me that he found studies that made the statement that someone who eats soy products that if affects your short term memory? By the way he drinks rice milk which I can't stand. So is there any truth to his statement?

Answers:
Well people in Asia have been eating soy for centuries, do you think Asian people's memory is significantly different from westerner's.

I do not know what it affects, but I do know it is not good for you as they have said it is. It is banned in Germany, and I would pay attention to some of these European countries on what they eat, as they do not get sick like those of us in the western world do
Rice Milk is good, I used to drink the vanilla flavoured one, but for coffee and teas the original is the best unless you like your drinks sweetened. However I do not use any any more not even on my Porridge in the morning. Dairy products cause a lot of health problems so don't believe all the advertising about "Milk is Good for you" Wrong! It is not!

i can't remember the last time i had soy milk.. uhhhh.. could be a memory problem there..oh! i remember now! it was 1999. i think.. i tasted some rice d**** soy milk.. i forget what happened after that..i do remember that it had a unique vanilla flavor. kinda like chewin on a piece of chalk w/ a vanilla candle stuffed up your nose.
the question was about SOY? ok , i seem to know a bit about TOFU, which btw is TOtally F----Useless..

Well, if that were the case wouldn't it have been known by now after the hundreds and hundreds of years of people eating soy products in Asia? Perhaps people eating way too much or those GM soy foods.

The comment about them being banned in Germany seems to actually be about GM (genetically modified) foods. They do not like those there.
