Question about ingredients for a Quinoa recipe?

Hey, I'm making a quinoa...thingie...tonite, not sure what to call it, but it sounds pretty good on paper. You cook quinoa in a rice cooker, but instead of water, you use vegetable stock. Yummy. Then sautee it with corn and onions. Double yummy.

Would tofu ruin this, or make it better? I was thinking of sauteeing up some firm tofu cubes cause I'm a tofu freak and I throw it in everything lolz. Would this be good? I've never made quinoa before, so I don't know what flavors complement it. Any advice?

Think of Quinoa as robust rice.. I use it just like I do rice, so with that in mind ~ Enjoy

What you're proposing is a fusion of Central American and Japanese cuisine. Why not? Be adventurous. Both tofu and quinoa are bland, so include something with a strong taste, like chilli powder or fish sauce. I've got some quinoa so I may give it a go myself.

A nice thing to do with the quinoa before you cook it is to toast it in a dry pan until it just starts to pop.

Other things to use instead of water or stock are fruit juices or a nice flavorful tea (like gun powder or earl grey).

sounds fine, I love inventing recipees...never fallow recipees and make up stuff all the time...Sometimes the inventions arent as good as I thought and sometimes they are better. What you are suggesting doesn't sound risky at all. Since you love Tofu, I think it will be great.
