Don't want to offend my mother.?
My mother has finally discovered Coach purses, and she has bought me 2 or 3 of them. Yes, they're real coach bags. Since I am a vegan, I do not agree in wearing that purse. But, I don't know what to do, as to not offend her. I really can't see a way out of it, and I've gone 6 months without wearing the last one, but she's been asking about it alot lately. What should I do?

tell her that you really appreciate her thinking about you, and you love that buys you things like that, but that you have enough purses right now. it's starting to clutter up your life, and you're looking to simplify your life.

Stick to your guns. Explain nicely that you are against such products. Give details but only if necessary. You cannot please everyone.
That's a tough one. I would simply sit down and explain to her that you are vegan, if she doesn't already know, and that leather goods go against your beliefs. Tell her that if she really wants to get you a Coach bag, then they also make them in faux-leather that ARE vegan. As far as the purses you already have, try to return them for an exchange, or sell them on eBay. At least then you are 'recycling' the leather back into society, keeping perhaps 2-3 others from buying a new one.
I had a vegan friend once who wore leather shoes. I asked her about it and she said she bought them used from a second-hand store. It was not against her beliefs to 'recycle' the shoes, and get good wear out of them, without them winding up in a landfill.
you should have let her know after the first one. thats alot of money to have spent. let her know that as much as you love the thought they are just not right for you and if not to late maybe she can return them. we have a standing agreement in all our family if someone does not like or need what they get it gets returned without hard feelings. we would rather return than waste
i on the other hand would love a coach and would be willing to take them off your hands i cannot afford them new

Leather purses and shoes are made from hides of animals that have died naturally. Don't feel bad about wearing them. Explain your views to your mother.

Please tell her that you dont believe in killing animals just so you can carry around a purse. Tell her to buy vegan purses.
