That stuff that killed cats is in all animal feeds from chickens to hogs?!
That stuff that killed cats is in all animal feeds from chickens to hogs?
But CNN said that the government had checked it out and found that thier isn't enough to kill anyone, we get such small portions compared to pets.
This is the same government that said, "Brown your doing a heck of a job"
"Weapons of mass destruction has been found in Iraq"
This Doctor came on and said they don't really know what the long term effects could be or if it could harm the young or the elderly. Am I the only one who doesn't feel comfortable with putting a small amount of poison in our food?
Answers:
-France, which has only a fraction of the U.S. cattle population, tests more cattle in a single week then the U.S. has tested in a decade
-According to Europe's latest annual report, Europe is testing cattle at a rate of almost two thousand times that of the United States
-address the feeding of slaughterhouse waste, blood and manure to livestock.
-cattle brains, eyes, spinal cord and guts from the human food supply is certainly a step in the right direction, but the World Health Organization recommends that these tissues not enter any food chain, human or animal. Unfortunately, the U.S. still feeds those potentially risky tissues to pigs, pets and poultry
-Almost all fattening beef cattle, all dairy calves and all adult dairy cows raised conventionally are fed meat and bone meal in the United States
-The pig remains can then be fed back to cattle
-Under the 1997 feed regulations, the FDA specifically allowed the feeding of chicken litter to cattle to continue, even if the chickens had just been fed meat and bone meal made from cattle remains
-The protein source in milk replacer is most often milk protein (whey), but dairy farmers also suckle their calves with milk replacer made from cattle blood protein which is often cheaper
-Yet calves in the U.S. to this day are still drinking up to 3 cups of "red blood cell protein" concentrate every day
-The U.S. also is presently testing only 1 out of every 18,000 cows slaughtered
-In fact, the USDA,now tests only 1 percent of all slaughtered cows
-Alsia Harrison is the spokesperson of the USDA,she also happened to work for the National Cattleman’s Beef Association for 15 years previously
No. You're not the only one who feels uncomfortable. That's part of why I became a vegetarian. To cut out the unknowns in my food, as much as I can.
I'm pretty concerned about it myself and am absolutely considering a change in diet. I'm just not comfortable with what we are being told.
I get it
CNN
your freaking out
and your a peacenik and will let UBL and A-Q to take over
just stop eating the Purina diet.
No, you arent the only one. For once, I am a glad I am allergic to wheat gluten, and I am especially glad I am a veggie! Now, its turned up in fish too-turns out it was made into fish food. I dont trust the government to do the right thing-they are heavily involved in the meat industry. I wouldnt be a bit surprised to see some long term effects from this. I will gladly stick to my organic home grown veggies!
