Why is fish not considered a meat?!

Question:

Why is fish not considered a meat?

why is it ok for vegatarians to eat fish. why is fish not considered a meat.

Answers:
It's not okay for vegetarians to eat fish.

Some people call themselves vegetarians and eat fish, but they're either confused or insane.

The reason people don't care about fish is because they can't hear the fishes cry out as they gasp and gasp as they die. Research now shows that fishes do indeed feel pain (I'm not sure why it took 'research' to find out that a living creature did not enjoy being killed!).

So in short, it's not okay. No real vegan or vegetarian would permit this.

I'm happy for anyone to make ethical improvements to their diet, but calling someone who eats fish a vegetarian? I don't think so.

yeah, good question...I ask it all the time...

i didn't know it wasn't. i guess the vegetarians who are in it for the health reasons still eat fish because its really good for you,if your a vegetarian because you think its cruel to eat animals then i would think fish would be included, fish is meat

fish is meat.

Because meat is of vegetarian origin and fish generally of non-veg origin, and fish is cold blooded whereas meat is warm blooded

if your a cornivore
the it is considered meat b.c. your eatign an animal
but
if yourr vegeterian
it's not
b.c. the're eting an animals outsied of the land
so theres kinda a difference
BUT
really nice question

i am a vegetarian I dont eat fish, i think it is animal i have been advised that I can still eat fish, I know it is good for you, I like the taste of meat I get a craving for prawns sometimes but still have not given in I believe fish is as much animal as cow, it still has heart gills etc it is a living creature, I dont know if it is true if it only has 1 minute memory, but it is still creature. even though these animals are already dead when we buy them I dont know if I could kill to eat tho we now have many things like quorn and stuff this is 2007 I mean I wouldnt eat a corpse, we are humans not predetors, but we all have a choice, one that animals may not have

Vegetarians don't eat fish.... But some people call themselves vegetarians or vegans and then eat fish. The proper term is "pescatarian."

Remember grade school? What was the question? Is it animal, mineral or vegitable?.

People who eat fish are not vegetarians.

Fish is meat. Haven't you ever seen its insides?
