Black and white, the hue you see is the refraction of light that your eyes pick up when it reflects from its surface, which looks like a combination of yellow and red

AN orange can be various shades from a light yellowish orange to a deep reddish orange. Depends on the variety but generally orange.
In addition, to those who said it's a mixture of red and yellow. Only in terms of paint. In terms of light it's a mixture of red and green.

Orange is a mixture of red and yellow.
When mixing primary colors orange is a secondary color.

someone once told me, everything is black & white. colour is purely in the mind !

what kind of orange? florida oranges are usually yellow, orange and green while california navels are a very bright dark orange,Italian blood oranges can be almost red on the outside

normally I'd say its just orange, but then I think that would be too easy to just be the answer. Is this a trick question? If so, its a good one...let me think:

in the US, there is no colour, only color
in the UK there is colour though

following this logic, I suppose whichever countries follow the 'colour' spelling, as you have it, would be able to describe the 'colour' of something. Other countries, however, would not be able to do so, but rather with another spelling variant that works for them.

Another take is that the color of an orange is "a mixture of yellow and red pigments".

Various shades between light yellow and deep red.
