Are Mars bars suitable for vegetarians?
A radio 4 news item just said that Mars bars are soon not going to be suitable for vegetarians, do you think they are now?

Actually, i read in the paper on saturday that they no longer are as they will contain animal rennet (calve stomach) :(
Yet another ridiculous thing they are putting in food just for the sake of it.
They are now but they wont be when they stick calves rennet in them - yum!

Any with a best before date before Oct 1st will be OK. Twix, Milky Way, Snickers and Bounty are all changing too.

I think that you can eat them if you're a vegan/vegetarian... I don't know actually, because I don't like Mars bars. I find them not very tasty...

considering the sugar content, i dont think they are suitable for anyone,

Apparently any Mars Bar, Galaxy, Twix, Snickers, Maltesers, Minstrels, Bounty or Milky Way with a sell by date after 1st October is now non-veggie.
If you are a veggie, I'd avoid them on principal from now.
Because someone has to go out and SLAUGHTER those Mars....

It says that if it has an expiration date of october 1, 2007, it is still "vegetarian" though thats not entirely true as the refined sugar in them is processed through char, which is ground animal bones. They are adding animal rennet (from the stomach of slaughtered baby calves-veal) to the next processing batch. Too stupid for words! This applies to all masterfood products, such as Twix, kitkat, snickers, etc.
My vegetarian friend is addicted to Mars bars! Their all good for you vegetarians, so eat up!
