Do vegetables have feelings?!

Question:

Do vegetables have feelings?

Just because they don't speak doesn't mean they don't suffer. Imagine how a potato must feel when you boil it! Or how a carrot screams in silent agony when you peel it with a sharp knife!

Answers:
Certainly! And we all need to foster better attitudes toward our vegetal brethen and their feelings. Since we must eat, and since more and more people are becoming vegetarian, humane methods of vegetable culling must be considered. To lessen their suffering might I suggest:

Taking them out of plastic bags so as not to suffocate them. The ones in the fridge are usually easier to handle as the cold numbs their senses. Let them know what they will become. They are often co-operative when shown respect. Every so often you will find a suicidal vegetable. Although controversial, I find a quick and merciful euthansia is best and they still taste just fine. And whatever you do, for God's sake, don't let the other veg see you mishandling the baby carrots.

Yes and they do talk to me too.

Answerers, please be aware that this asker is a waiter with job issues. Because vegetarians ask him questions about food at his job, he feels the compulsion to harass vegetarians and vegans in this section. These are not real questions, they are some kind of revenge for a person who really needs a career change.

a bit eccentric but i agree. this is the basis of my point as to why vegetarians who do it only because eating meat is "cruel to animals" are full of caacaa.

Oh lord.

I love veggies, but come on now.

I dont know! Do you?

Mmm, good point! Make sure that cabbage died of natural causes, won't you?

/Wonders, Will anyone understand the 'Erewhon' reference?
//Wonders, Will anyone look up 'Erewhon' now?
///No, not 'Eragon'.

and isn't it just like a human to want to beat something
(eggs)

I wonder if eggs have feelings?

I think cherry tomatoes get it the worst though

vertigo-
it's weird to think we may be apologizing for these acts of cruelty someday

they may want retribution

I'll never look at a coconut the same

Some people have hooked vegetables up to lie detectors and experimented by talking mean to them, threatening other living things and playing music. The plants do respond.

Or how a garlic clove feels when you squish the hell out of it and force it thru those tiny holes in that garlic press

Yeah...thats why when you don't eat the greens they cry.

Dummy

if they are, we are in trouble

all I know is that my potatoes have eyes!

Stop asking stupid questions, you dumb *****.

I hope not, cause I hate them! I would feel real bad if I found out that they had feelings ... oh how guilty I would feel for the years of abuse I have perpetrated against those poor vegetables. Sitting at the dinner table when I was a wee child yelling I DON'T WANT ANY!!! I HAAAAAAATE VEGETABLES!!!!!!!! and a few years later: I DON'T WANT ANY, THOSE ARE DISGUSTING!!! and still: VEGETABLES ARE GROSS AS HELL MOM! and on to: I LOATHE VEGETABLES! and at the end of my teen years: I'D RATHER LICK A MONKEY'S BUTT THAN EAT THOSE!
it would take years of therapy if I knew they heard me and I was contributing to the vegetable's low self esteem. :(

cut a tomato and listen to it screeeeeeeeeam

Got into my private stash last night, again, didn't ya?

Vegetables to not have feelings.. they can't feel anything because they do not have a spinal cord or a brain to transmit any of the sensory signals that they might recieve. Come on now.. think!

It is scientific fact that vegetables have no central nervous system (CNS). Without a CNS, they can not feel pain or emotions.

yup they do~
some years back, scientists were studying on how to grow plants faster etc.
it's proven that classical music can help them increase their growth rate and "mood"

cheerz~

Of course they have feelings do you see how steam comes out of vegtables when you cook them because they're mad at you. XD

of coarse not! r u crazy!

maybe
but in this case you said they're already dead they feel nothing.

It would be worse if you used a blunt knife. Blunt knives should only be used on cauliflowers, because they deserve all they get.....cheese sauce is just to good for them

yeah i heard a conversation between my peas and carrots at dinner earlier and theyre conspiring against human mankind to take over the world. apparently the the asparagus was a little mad that we smothered them in butter.

NO!

Yes they do.

Can you image the pain they feel when they are taken out of the ground by the big tillers. They are just riped out of the ground and then put though many machines just for us to enjoy.

The poor Vegetables. Who is going to stand up for there rights.

No, as every living thing it have survival processes, in humans and some other animals this high developed processes are know as feelings.

They Might, They Might not...it won't matter..

as people need SOMETHING to eat...
