Vegetarian and protein?!

Question:

Vegetarian and protein?

I am a 14 year old vegetarian guy and I just wanted to know how much protein I should be getting everyday?

Answers:
Protein is not that hard to find, look at the side of any box. There is protein in almost everything.

You can get protein from beans, tofu, milk, soy milk, Yogurt(watch, most have gelatin), Peanut Butter, Grains, including bread and pasta, Nuts and Seeds.

The average person get way too much protein in their diet. Meat contain upwards of 25 grams per serving, and when was the last time you saw anyone have one playing card size serving?

Vegetarian or not, the daily recommended amount for protein intake for everyone is 50 grams.

Now, because you are a vegetarian, it will be a little harder for you to find protein-rich foods (because meat is a main source). Anything like nuts, cheese, or beans are a great way to get your protein in!

50 g is about right. If you are not vegan, you can get plenty of your protein from eggs and dairy, and should have no concern. A diet that consists of lots of legumes (beans) and whole grains provides huge amounts of protein as well. It's actually very difficult to have a protein deficiency if you eat three decent meals a day.
