It's pretty good fried up, but pretty much no matter what you do to it it won't be any good on its own. Find spices and sauces to mix it with. My dad made me a great tofu meal with teriyaki sauce and it was great! It's also good when you add it with other things, like roasted vegetables or stir fry. Check out ethnic cooking, they have lots of great recipes with tofu. My favorite is pad thai with tofu! It's super good.

Amazon.com has a lot of tofu-specific cookbooks. I would try one of these with lots of different recipes to try. My favorite is "Giant Book Of Tofu Cooking: 350 Delicious & Healthful Recipes." It has a great variety of easy to make recipes. Another good one is "Quick & Easy A Taste of Tofu (Quick & Easy)." It's, well, quick and easy!

Good luck!

You can cut it up into squares and saute with soy sauce.

I usually take extra firm tofu and squeeze out the water the best I can. Then place it in a pan and pour a combination of chili sauce blended with corn startch and hot water all over stir fry it in this mix for a bit and you have spicy tofu!

tofu really has no taste of its own, it takes on the taste of whatever you cook it with. Try adding it to stir-fried veggies and use an asian-type sauce- the tofu will pick up the flavors of the sauce.

Basiclly tofu has no taste
and takes on the taste of
what ever you spice it with.

www.google.ca type in tofu recipes,
and a bunch of them will come up:)

It's fine to eat fish, as long as you don't call yourself a vegetarian. I eat tofu with soy sauce and I found that it is good in burritos and salads too.

This site might give you some ideas http://recipeswithtofu.blogspot.com/...

Citrus Barbeque Tofu [2 servings]

1 14-ounce package of extra-firm tofu, cut into 8 or 9 slices
juice of 2 lemons
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
dash of black pepper

Whisk all the ingredients but the tofu in a bowl to make the marinade.
Put the tofu slices in a flat dish and pour over the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
Turn the grill on medium heat and brush lightly with some olive oil. Grill the tofu slices, brushing with extra marinade while cooking, about 5 minutes for each side.

One of the best ways that you can enjoy tofu (assuming that you're not too concious about eating deep fried stuff) is to just deep fry it.

It's simple. Take the tofu out of the box, it's very fragile so you've got to be quite careful about it. Cut it into bite sized pieces and sprinkle some salt over the wet chunks of tofu then coat it with flour and deep fry it till it the batter turns golden. Simple.

Sauce is really optional. Some like it on it's own, some like it with sweet and sour sauce. That's really up to you. Enjoy!
