How long will store bought tofu keep once it's been opened?!

Question:

How long will store bought tofu keep once it's been opened?

Also, what should I store it in? The package it came in, with the liquid? It's nasoya silken tofu

Answers:
Put it in a tupperware with fresh water, and change the water every day. That will keep it the longest--up to 5 days in my experience. Once it starts to develop a sour taste, throw it out.

usually a few days, you can slice it thin and freeze it, or put it in a tight sealing container with a bit of the liquid or water. Don't store it in the fridge for more than 3-4 days, it rots really quickly

If you change the water every day it will keep for about a week. In fact, in the 70's it was dispensed this way in natural foods stores unrefrigerated, so it was already a few days old when you bought it. After it becomes sour, you can still reclaim it if you boil it thoroughly--not recommended for dishes which are not heavily sauced.
