Why doesn't my orange tree produce oranges?!
Why doesn't my orange tree produce oranges?
Answers:
my mom raised an orange tree for years and it never produced any oranges. She was told by a professional that it depends on the soil and the environment...they are sensitive trees if anything is off then they will not produce fruit. For example the temperature or weather or not there are bees or other orange trees around for the cross pollination to occur. I hope that this helps. :)
I t may be dorment. Trees go through stages where they rest and do not produce fruit. Sometimes it is only temporary other times it is permanent.
It might be too young and just resting until it's able to produce fruit. Producing fruit stresses the tree out.
orange tree need bone meal feeding just go to the hardware store and pick up a bag of fertilizer for orange trees
Is this tree outside?
If it is container grown and in an enclosed area, it might not be getting pollinated. Do bees have access to the blossoms?
Are the blossoms getting pollinated? You can see the immature fruit almost immediately at the base of the flower.
Good Luck.
It usually takes 3-5 years for most fruit bearing trees to bear fruit. Most orange trees need a second tree to help in polination. If there are already other orange trees in the neighborhood, or near-by, you will not need another tree.
just like humans, it needs the girl parts to mix with the boy parts. talk to your local arborist or nursery manager.
