Vegetarian in Hong Kong?!
Vegetarian in Hong Kong?
I will be travelling to hong kong for an year or so. I am vegetarian and have heard that there is very limited options for vegetarians. Wont be able to eat in a hotel everyday. Do you know if veg food will be available in local restaurants ? if yes, is the options for veg food very limited ? I would be cooking myself atleast 1 meal a day though.
Answers:
Very, very limited.
In decent hotels you wil be limited to pizza, and i'd question the cheese in that.
Outside, you have almost go no chance. I go there on business and always come back loosing weight.
Yuo wont find veggie food marked up if you intend to cook for yourself, so it'll all have to be from raw ingredients.
Don't forget to look around the late night markets on the mainland..emmm, all sorts of animals to eat !
Good luck, living there as a veggie is not for me, but on the plus side you will be able to buy a decent watch for about $1. Don't forget to negotiate !
Hmm.. I've always heard it's pretty easy to be veg in Hong Kong, but maybe I'm wrong. Look on these websites to find veg-friendly restaurants. There's at least 24 of them.
