Why do so Many people think that "Organic" food is the better to eat?!
Why do so Many people think that "Organic" food is the better to eat?
Organic Means that the object contains Carbon.
ALL food contains Carbon.
ALL food is Organic.
Organic is a Chemistry Term.
All Hydro Carbons are Organic.
All Oils and Alchohols are Hydro Carbons
So Based on Consumer hype
Since Organic Things are Good to Eat
And all Oils are Hydro-Carbons
And all Hydro-Carbons are Organic
Therefore Motor Oil is Organic
Therefore it is Good to eat
Therefore you can Pour it on your Salad as a dressing.
So why All the hype on a misleading term?
Answers:
no no no, organic doesn't mean just that there are no pesticides and herbicides. It means that the product is produced with all non-synthetic materials. Also, it must be produced in a natural environment. For example, shrimp cannot be considered organic because there is no way to regulate what they consume without taking them out of their natural environment and placing them in a tank. I don't buy organic because there is no scientific proof that is any better for you than conventional. Also, the products tend to be 1/4 the size and 5 times the price. As for others, they are so convinced by organic farmers that all the world's ailments are due to pesticides and antibiotics. But what they don't know is that the meat industry regularly tests animal products for any residue, being antibiotic or not.

Husband was an organic certifier, and we still don't buy organic.
*Beebs-FYI--if you produce organic veggies, then I assume you are certified. And if you are certified, you know that animal manure composted under NOP standards are approved for the use in organic production (with application regulations)
No pesticides or hormones to meat.
honestly, i'd rather eat something that wasn't sprayed with a bunch of pesticide on top of all the stuff you just listed. that's why i do.
of food or food products, grown in an environment free from artificial agro-chemicals, and possibly certified organic by a regulatory body.
Food grown without pesticides and chemicals...
I can taste the pesticide in most coffee, that's why I drink the organic stuff.
People are SO easily misled. You get one good-looking person to make a statement, in this case that organic food is the new 'in' thing and is so great for you - and everybody follows along. Suddenly organic food sections are popping up in grocery stores & everybody's on the bandwagon. Nobody bothers to research - isn't everything you see on tv or hear on the news TRUE??!!??
These are the same people that buy stuff from infomercials on tv - BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!
Yes, TE.
do your homework before asking such a silly question. Organic does not mean carbon. It means it was grown without the use of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, or animal manure. I grow organic veggies, and trust me, they are far superior to the genetically modified, pesticide laden garbage at the grocery store.
Well, the proper term is "organically grown", but it is too long for most labels.
Just because something is made up of organic compounds does not lead to the conclusion that you can eat it. Your logic is also flawed.
