Is Moe's South west grill considered a vegetarian/vegan restaurant?
It serves tofu, and cooks with no animal fat.

I'm vegetarian, and I eat at Moe's. Is it an ideal solution? No. Is it better than regular fast food? Yes. Their mushrooms are very good. Vegans probably wouldn't approve because they serve meat and dairy. You can't guarantee that the foods are all cooked separately, but they do maintain two grills. I called my local Moe's and they said that some restaurants do and some don't keep the grills separate. But they don't use animal fat or lard in their cooking, as many Mexican places do.
We don't all have a co-operatively run vegan restaurant in town, and you have to eat out sometime. I think Moe's is a pretty good compromise.
Moes sells steak and chicken. The steak and chicken and tofu and everything else comes pre-cooked/prepped in bags or buckets. The only thing fresh is the peppers and mushrooms and some of the other produce.
Who know how that stuff is prepared before it comes to moe's? But no, moe's is just a lame knock off of the good Mexican restaurants and doesn't care about veggies or vegans. They are only selling a concept. I mean come on. It's almost $2 to add sour cream to your burrito that you can't even pronounce the name of.
They must think they're the new Starbucks.
As far as chain/theme restaurants go, they are one of the best vegetarian/vegan options. Since they don't cook with animal lard and do provide numerous veggie options, it's your best bet if you want something good, quick. You'd probably still be better off with an authentic Mexican/Southwest restaurant, but they certainly offer a lot more to choose from than most fast food places.
No it is not...they may serve tofu but they also serve meat. They're food is great though.
Moe's is one of my favorite restaurants. I love their foods. They actual specify what is vegeterian, like the Pinky Tuscadero, and Art Vandalay.
