What is a side dish that goes well with stir-fry?!

Question:

What is a side dish that goes well with stir-fry?

My mom just had surgery and my grandma is staying with us for the week. I'm in charge of meals... I'm trying to decide what goes well as a side dish with stir-fry (tofu, broccoli, peppers, etc) and brown rice.
Any suggestions?

Stir-fry doesn't require a side... It already encompasses a protein(tofu), starch(rice), and veg... and small side salad would be a nice accoutrement....Make a simple oriental dressing. I recommend sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger and lemon zest... good luck!

eggrolls, spring rolls, wontons

There is so much in a stir-fry. Veggies and meat (if you chose) and rice. I wouldn't add a side dish, unless it was a simple broth soup. I would have instead a dessert, maybe serbert or pudding after the stir-fry.

How about sliced fresh cucumbers or fresh fruit for something 'raw?' Or just serve as a rice bowl with the stir-fry on top of the rice. A cup of hot chicken, beef, or vegetable broth is also a good side dish for stir fry.

egg rolls, crab rangoons mmmmm!

sticky rice

Spring rolls! Yum. Or maybe some tempura (battered)veggies with a nice sweet n sour sauce (or mustard, etc).

Honestly, I don't normally make a side when I do stir fry... it's kind of a "one skillet" meal.

A curry maybe? White rice or brown wild rice definately goes well with them. Oh, or a coconut soup? You can find recipes online...

If you get all nutrition in a meal, like vitamins, protein, carbs,,, then you dont need a side dish. You could of course make falafel balls, or cooked potato if you want it. Although salad and a home-made sauce would be perfect for the meal you mentioned.

You could get some Chinese buns if you can find them in the store. I get cabbage, mushroom, pumpkin, spinach buns or just plain buns.
