Soy products and Milk.... Does it really do a body good??
I have been doing some research on soy products and milk. I have read a lot of articles that soy is not all that good for you, and that milk contains a lot of components that are not necessarily good for you. Milk is said to have growth hormones, fat, cholesterol, allergenic proteins, blood, pus, antibiotics, bacteria, and viruses. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks for your answer, however pus and blood is not an additive, it’s already in the milk. I don’t think it can be removed, but I could be wrong.

Well milk is not natural to drink. Cow's milk is meant for baby cows, We are the only species that drinks the milk of another species, also the only ones that drink it past infancy.
Soy on the other hand gives people problems because they are allergic to it. All it is, is the liquid that results from cooking beans... A little more natural in my opinion.
I'm not really all that sure about peoples problems with soy... because alot of the info out there are myths/ propaganda... But I have no problems with it, but some people do, they just can't drink it... If you don't have problems with it then go ahead and drink it.
The whole bit about soy causing cancer I think is a myth.
Both are beneficial, but provide different nutrients. Organic products are also available to avoid all the additives in milk, and there is fat free milk.
People find a problem with everything these days. I would say soy is better just because it's a bean, it's natural.
I wouldn't worry too much as long as you get organic and don't eat a truckload every day.
But like I said, people find a problem with everything.
It's getting ridiculous. Some things you're better off not knowing.
Soy milk would be better.No...Organic soy milk would be better.Chemicals scare me.And plain milk is from a cow.Which has tons of germs on it's body.So go with soy milk. And you probably won't catch a illness
I have heard drinking milk(and only mother milk) after you are an infant is not a great idea...
Soy Products are better for you.
Milk really does have all those things in them plus the fact that people who eat meat and drink milk are more likely to get:
cancer
diabetes
high cholesterol
ect
Dairy:
If you want dairy foods, when possible buy organic, raw wholemilk. That's a whole different product than the adulaterated stuff on the supermarket shelves.

Soy:
David Favor at Radicalhealth.com says ...
"Soy is one of the most extreme accelerated aging substances on the planet, as cooked soy contains estrogen (hormone like) substances which instruct the body to "speed up", age faster. Products like lechithin, tofu, tempe and soy milk are the worst, Miso and whole Edaname beans are okay, in moderation."..
He also writes:
...." Bone building is complex. We'll start with Egyptian Mummies. Testing bones from Mummies has surfaced interesting data. Bones of these people primarily contain Silicon, rather than Calcium.
Mummy bones are very strong, compared with bone build from Calcium which tends to be much more rigid and brittle. Bone built from Silicon tends to be flexible. Silicon based bone is more like trees, bending in strong wind then returning to form when pressure is removed.
If the body has Silicon in abundance to use, it will begin replacing Calcium with Silicon in bones. Next comes Magnesium. If Silicon is in short supply, bodies fallback to Magnesium. This is talked about in detail in "Biological Transmutations", which is one of the most fascinating books I've ever read.
In summary, if Magnesium is plentiful, bodies convert Magnesium to a highly soluble and biologically active form of Calcium.
As a last recourse, the body uses Calcium directly from fluids (metabolized dietary sources) to build bone.
So if you're trying to build strong bone, eat a diet plentiful with shiny-skinned Raw veges. Shiny skin says "Silicon rich". Red Bell Peppers, other Peppers, Cucumbers, Tomatoes for Silicon. Also eat plenty of Pistachios for Magnesium."...
You could replace soy milk with fresh nut milk. Soak the nuts overnight to start their germination process.
-- Almond Milk:
Cover blade of blender with almonds
Fill half way with water and blend until creamy
Fill rest of the way with water and pour through strainer.
This is a “low fat” version of milk, if you like a richer milk add more almonds, although it becomes very rich when you Make it into a smoothie with other ingredients.
milk has calcium, which makes bones strong. having strong bones is important especially when people get older.
If soy is bad for you then why is everyone in Asia so darn healthy? Milk does have a lot of hormones and bad things in it, which is why you should buy organic. Stoneyfield farms and Horizon are cheap and readily available organic brands.
A fair part of the world population is "lactose intolerant."
http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases...
"Who is at risk for lactose intolerance?
Between 30 and 50 million Americans are lactose intolerant and certain ethnic and racial populations are more affected than others. Up to 80 percent of African Americans, 80 to 100 percent of American Indians, and 90 to 100 percent of Asian Americans are lactose intolerant. The condition is least common among people of northern European descent."
Being able to digest lactose in milks is a mutation for people that have consumed milk for periods of time, it is natural to not consume milk after breast feeding is over. That is why many people are not "tolerant."

This is exactly why you see pretty much no dairy items in a menu at a Chinese restaurant, they rarely consume dairy, not until recently as the Western foods have been introduced there. Now the dairy companies see "1+ billion" people that could potentially buy their product.
So they've survived thousands of years on basically no dairy but instead ate soy.
That is why soy milk and tofu, etc... is consumed there, again, for hundreds and hundreds of years.
Consider these points. Most people seem to ignore this history. Which is why I'm not bothered by these "stories" on the internet.
Just avoid overly processed foods, GMO foods, and excessive amounts of the same kind of foods.
Soy is not really good for you--it IS really good for business though....After doing plenty of my own research I have decided no to buy it very much. I buy only organic milk which I then boil which helps its digestibility as you can't really get it raw anywhere. Plus I don't really use it that much either. Fresh leafy greens are way better and much cheaper too.
