Animals and methane gas?!

Question:

Animals and methane gas?

It is being suggested that we all go veggie in order to reduce the number of animals (cows in particular) that fart methane gas and so reduce the effect on the ozone layer.
When I have tried a fruit and veg diet my emissions of gases goes up considerably- so defeating the objective.
Any comments

Vegan and proud obviously hasn't met me.
My methane emissions beat any that a cow can produce- without the veggie diet.
Ask my wife (She wears a gas mask so may not hear you- speak up)

yeah get a car that runs on methane and fart in to that lol.are we suppose to be killing all these animals to get rid of problem?can i send my hubby there?he farts more than your average cow lol

once you've been on a fruit and veg diet for a while your system will get used to it and the gas will be less frequent, that way in the end it will settle down and there will be less overall!

i don't think being a veggi is a good idea, get some cattle down yer, humans only create 6%ish of the total carbon, the rest is from the sea etc. there's nothing wrong with your 5 a day mind

Cows exist in artifically high numbers because of the demand for their meat. You do more for the environment by being a vegetarian than you would do by driving a hybrid car.The livestock population creates 130 times the amount of excrement that humans do,and we have sewer systems, they don't,so your gas is really nothing compared to that.

LOL. I think the whole "cow farting is destroying the atmosphere" theory is a bunch of crap... but that's my opinion. Maybe people should focus more on taking care of the planet than worrying about how much their dinner farts.

Your methane emission are no where near the volume of a cow's. BTW, North of Los Angeles is a "holding area" (?) for cattle right along Interstate 5. You can smell it about 10 miles away. Thousands and thousands of cattle just waiting and farting.

I think you should quit wasting everyones time with ridiculous inane questions. Thats my comment.

no doubt about it veggies are stinking b a s t ards

Yes all animals of reasonable size and humans will be fitted with apparatus that collects methane emissions(farts)and stores them in flasks attached to the animal or person. At regular intervals the full flasks are exchanged for empty ones and the full ones sent to the electricity power stations where all their fuel needs would be met in this manner with no need to use coal or oil. This would have a twofold effect on the reducing the erosion of the ozone layer.

wtf?didnt understand any of that but cowz rule yaay
