Can you be a vegetarian and still eat fish?!

Question:

Can you be a vegetarian and still eat fish?

Answers:
no, fish is meat. There is no such thing as a pescitarian(look in a dictionary). It is a made up term by people who want to do the right thing by not eating meat, but cannot commit to the entire thing. I found a lot of teenager like to call themselves this.

However you can call yourself anything you like, but actual vegetarians do not consume any animal. I never really iunerstand why people want to be called a vegetarian when they still eat meat.

NO

No, because fish is meat.

that's been asked upteen thousands of times..
The Answer is NO NO NO. When you eat fish which is a meat from the waters you can't be a vegetarian cause vegetarians only eat fruits, veggies and things from animals that don't require killing that isn't meat! You can stop being a vegetarian for a while if you really want to be a vegetarian.
If you're mostly a vegetarian and eat fish then call yourself nearly vegetarian but remember you really aren't vegetarian if you eat any kind of meat fish, poultry, or other meats!

Its called a pesco-vegetarian I believe. Many people debate that this cannot be considered a vegetarian diet. However, many cultures, including mine, do not consider fish to be meat. So, again, it really depends on your cultural beliefs. I wouldn't ever call myslf a vegetarian but just say that I do not consume land-dwelling animals, in your case, or mammals, in my case.

Yes...that is called a pescatarian. One who eats no meat, but eats fish.

no

no

NOOOOOOO!
it's called Pescatarian
PEsco means fish
fish it's an animal
saying that vegs eats fish it's like saying that cops are obess with eating doughnuts

yea, its called being a piscivore, or pesco vegetarian

Vegetarians dont eat animals. Fish is an animal. It bleeds just like a cow or a pig, so I dont understand the confusion.

ah there is a types of vegetarians you can look up. There is one vegetarian i think that only eats fish-idunnp but check it out.

no because fish is meat.

Pescetarianism is a dietary choice, in which a person does not consume the flesh of land dwelling animals. In contrast to a vegetarian, a Pescetarian eats fish and seafood, it is similar to (and often contains) the Mediterranean diet.

why not.

Why invent all these subcategories of what kind of vegetarian you are? Why is it necessary?

I have been veggie for 15 yrs., and if I want to have some fish, I will. I refuse to be bound by others definitions of who they would have me be.

A great statement I came across years ago that helped me not be so uptight about my choices:

Are You a hypocrite or a Fanatic

fish are animals. Vegetarians don't eat animals.
