No one understands why I hate celery. I'm the sort of person who will eat ANYTHING. I even try celery if its on my plate, but everytime I still hate it.

It has a different taste but I wouldn't say it taste like soap. Add some peanut it makes it taste alot better

Have you tried washing the celery first?
Raw bunya nuts have been described as soapy, even some weird fruits I ate on the islands... But celery is not even remotely close to tasting like soap.
It's crunchy and refreshing... I can't think of a term to describe the taste. But I will go eat some celery today so that I can ponder this more thoroughly.

if you mean that it tastes bitter, as soap does, then I agree. I just can't stand raw celery, tastes too bitter to me and makes my head feel strange afterwards. But I love cooked celery in soups, as long as other vegetables are also largely involved in the soups. mmm....yeah I've heard that putting peanut butter on celery sticks helps them to taste better (raw at least). Fortunately I enjoy the other green vegetables (with the exception of bitter gourd) so I don't think I miss out on much by not eating raw celery.

The taste is very bland when it's just raw (which is common in most vegetables). But if celery takes a big part in your diet than just chop it up and steam it with other vegetables and rice or eat it as a snack with peanut butter and raisins.
Add it in your tomatoe juice as decoration? :)
I like ants on a log, but in general, I agree celery is pretty tasteless.
vegetarian here......LOVE veggies and fruits but i really dislike celery
