Pork and Beans?!

Question:

Pork and Beans?

Is it OK for a vegetarian to eat pork and beans if you take out that little teeny piece of pork they put in the can ?

Answers:
it's okay if you rinse the beans real well

You are still supporting the "pork" part of the sale when you buy pork and beans. So, yes.....it is wrong. Plus, who wants to eat the beans once they have been mixed with animal flesh?

I don't think it is accordance to the whole philosophy. I would say no.

yes

no. because its also made with meat broth. if youre a real vegetarian, youd stay away from that.

i don't think so, but if you like pork and beans then by all means...... eat healthy because you want to not because of rules.

Technically no - it's not okay because the juices & fat from the meat remain in the beans.

Bush's makes a great truly vegetarian style of baked beans. http://www.bushbeans.com/products/bakedb...

if you're strict, no...because the tiny piece of pork is cooked in the sauce and beans- ham or bacon is generally the base for the sauce itself. you need to get vegetarian baked beans. (they're really good, though! i'm not even a vegetarian and i love them!)

Of course, if you're hungry and there is nothing else to eat ,you could do worse than to eat pork and beans, even with the salt pork left in, My suggestion though would be to buy beans without pork, like vegetarian Rosarita refrieds, cheaper, too

Well, no.
I think it's Heinz that makes vegetarian canned beans. You can find it at all major grocery stores. This can solve your problem!

The pork will still be in the beans during the canning and cooking. If you are a true vegan you would not touch it.

NO!

It don't matter, just get beans that have no pork in them. They killed the pig to get that one little piece of pork in there but then, maybe it is only some sort of pork flavored thing.
Meat don't hurt anyone.
Do you know that the people who raise the animals have this as their job. The animals are livestock and just as important as paper is to a writer.

Kimberly is correct, Heinz makes Vegetarian Baked Beans.

it depends on the reason that you are vegetarian. if you are vegetarian because of the industry, then it would probably not support the moral reasons for being so. however, if you chose to be vegetarian for health reasons, then there are worse things you could do. and being ok is entirely dependent on what you deem alright.

does dressing up a member of the same sex in the clothes of the opposite gender and getting pleasure from them not make you gay...... I guess ignorance is bliss is your motto

No! and there are plenty of good vegetarian beans try them
you can serve them with veggie dogs.
