Were Mars just raising awareness of their products among vegetarians?!
Were Mars just raising awareness of their products among vegetarians?
I think I smell a publicity stunt....
Answers:
This was almost certainly a PR stunt. Mars is privately held and issues almost NO press releases. They knew exactly what they were doing when they released this 'news'.
Don't forget that this is the same company that OK'd a "gay" superbowl commercial and got flamed for it! Any idea how many millions of dollars worth of free publicity they've gotten from these stunts? Sure they may lose a few sales to veggies, just like they didn't mind losing sales to the anti-gay crowd. They've had their name and brands blasted all over the media and have convinced everyone what a wonderful, responsive company they are for reversing the original press release (look at the history of their superbowl ad).
Give it about 6 months and you'll be smelling something other than a publicity stunt! I promise you that they'll wait for things to calm down and then quietly go ahead with the change to their recipes. It's the way corporations work!

Vegetarians do not eat fish. A fish eater is a Piscivore. Spread the correct word!

You could be right. I hadn't thought of that.
Hehe, while it does sounds sly, I doubt it. But you never know about corporations. I am kind of pissed because I was never interested in their foods until this whole thing happened. LOL but I won't give in and buy!
If it was it was poorly planned. Because of the company's spokeperson's lack of compassion for vegetarian's was so eloquently spoken, I wouldn't trust anything from that company again.
And, since major brand manufacturer's of chocolate use child slave labor to produce their products I wouldn't purchase that stuff anyway. I will stick to "jungle chocolate" for all of my chocolate cravings.
probably
I think they were. If it was because they though Mars would do better, or sell better or whatever with animal products in then 6000 or even 100000 people wouldnt have stopped them. I hope other people along with me, arent going to hear that think oh no ill miss Mars, then when they chance thwere mind think oh good and buy one!
