No,vegetarians do not eat fish.Someone who eats fish is a piscivore.
If you eat fish, you are not truely a vegetarian. You can eat whatever you want, the term vegetarian does not apply to anyone who eats any living animals.
Definitions of vegetarian:
noun: eater of fruits and grains and nuts; someone who eats no meat or fish or (often) any animal products.
Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary
Main Entry: vegetarian
Function: adjective
1 : of or relating to vegetarians
2 : consisting wholly of vegetables, fruits, and sometimes eggs or dairy products
By what you described the only meat you wouldn't be eating is cow's meat? That's far from being a vegetarian. Being vegetarian is more then putting on a jersey and calling yourself a player...its about the ethics, the choices and the compassion behind it. I'd like to know your reasons for becoming vegetarian and we could go in depth more - as it stands now I don't have enough information and what you described isn't vegetarian. =) - VC
feel free to email me if you have additional questions or want resources online.
nope that would not be a true vegeratian because a vegeratians do not eat flesh and for the people that say fish are not meat cause u can still eat that fridays during lent it dose NOT MEAN THAT IT IS NOT MEAT ok just saying cause that bothers me
Pescatarians eat fish.
Vegans eat no animal products.
Lacto-Ovo allow dairy, eggs.
well if u're considered a vegetarian then you're not supposed to eat any animal and since fish is considered an animal u shouldnt eat it but it depends on u, some people are vegetarians except for the fact that they eat seafood, me, im a vegan, by the way, y did u want to start being a vegetarian?
The term has been applied, however, as you are eating an animal, I don't consider this vegetarianism, however some people would.
Vegan: does not consume or use animal products, notably meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy products.
Ovo vegetarianism: Basically veganism, but they eat eggs as well.
Lacto vegetarianism: Includes dairy products such as milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, cream, and kefir but excludes eggs.
Lacto-ovo vegetarianism: Consumes dairy products (i.e. milk and its derivatives, like cheese, butter, or yogurt) and eggs. Lacto means "milk" and ovo means "egg".
Pollotarianism: Person does not consume mammalian meat such as beef, pork, and lamb, but does consume chicken. As with lacto-ovo vegetarianism, there are usually no restrictions on non-flesh animal products such as dairy and eggs.
you can, but you would NOT be a vegetarian.
A fish is an animal with feelings too. Imagine finding nemo
Sweetie, you can do whatever you like. I am vegan, I don't eat any animal products, not even honey.
If you chose this for the rights of animals, you are taking a step in the right direction whichever level you start on. For some, 'cold turkey' is a bit of a turn off as it takes time to learn how to create fantastic vegan food( lucky for me my partner started 10 years ago so he's teaching me heaps) But jsut hang in there, ignore the slurs of ignorant people (believe me sometimes they just don't get it) Most of the time they feel bad deep down and are jelous that they don't share your integrity.
first of all, there are no "Normal Vegaterians"
:-D
j/k
Can is about choice. Anyone can chose to eat or not any anything.
Vegetarians, chose not to kill animals of any type for food, Fish would have to be killed in order to be eaten.
Your choice is just that - YOUR CHOICE. You have to answer to no one except yourself.
Vegetarians do not eat animals..period.
a true veggie will not eat fish or white meat
vegans go one stage further no animal products at all
but there a lot of people who think a vegetarian meal is tuna ? etc ?
