Why do some vegans avoid soy products?!

Question:

Why do some vegans avoid soy products?

Answers:
Could be one or many of several reasons:
1. They don't like the taste.
2. They find them to be usually overly processed.
3. They are worried they might eat too much and have an unbalanced diet, so to be sure, they don't eat any at all.
4. They can often be expensive.
5. Much soy is GM now, and some vegans are against that.
6. Some have thyroid issues or other health reasons to avoid it - my roommate's mother has to avoid even trace amounts for this reason.

I actually eat too much soy myself, but I understand the sentiment to avoid or limit it.

Probably because, like me, they are allergic to soy and soy products.

There are some reports now that soy is bad for you.

Also, since soybeans are grown now on huge mono-culture farms, there is some argument that soy farming is not sustainable, and the amount of pesticide used in their growth is bad for the environment.

Additionally, many soy products are used to make processed foods that resemble meat, which some vegans won't eat, since one of the goals is to eat lower on the food chain.

may be they think it of animal origin or may be its smell is different which is not particularly liked by all

Some people are allergic to soy products.

They probably have different reasons. I for one enjoy silk soy milk and thai peanut noodles with tofu a bit too much for that. I don't see how it could be unhealthy though, look at Asia.

i don't eat soy because it has fat. but sometimes if i have to i eat little bet.
