Question about health for all current veggies!?!

Question:

Question about health for all current veggies!?

Is being a health-conscious vegetarian (like, not pigging out on fries and cheese pizza and stuff.just eating pretty healthy everyday, with veggies fruit and whole grains, lowfat dairy when i eat it) a good way to actually lose weight?? or would I lose more weight on a vegan-type diet?

Answers:
Research has shown people following a typical vegetarian diet consume, on average, around 500 fewer calories daily than their meat-eating counterparts. Interestingly, the research showed that they actually ate more food than non-vegetarians.

This can be attributed to the fact that vegetarians' diets are comprised mainly of complex carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates are starchy, fiber-rich foods, and are naturally low in fat. Examples of complex carbs are legumes and other vegetables and grains.

If you are active, then you should be fine to indulge once in a while in some carbohydrates. In other words, your calories that you ingest daily should be equal to your activity level to loose weight. I think everything should be in moderation also.

whenever I go vegan for a while i really shed pounds fast. vegan -low carb-that means mainly lots of steamed or raw veggies and tofu.

My 17 year old daughter is vegan and she is thin, but vegan is a really strict diet. Real dedicated vegans dont eat honey, yeast, red dyes, mushrooms, dairy, chocolate- YIKES!

She really believes in it but she often breaks the rules just because she gets so hungry and gets sick of veggies and fruits, and doesnt really know how to cook. Shell eat breads if shes really hungry. But I have to give her credit- shes trying really hard to keep to the vegan way.

Go vegetarian, not vegan. Or, be a not-so-strict vegan.

Either way, its a healthy way to eat, and you have a better chance of staying thin.

im a vegan and i would say that being a vegan is really effective on losing a lot of weight real fast but u can stay a vegetarian if u want or go not-so-strict-vegan =)

vegan, because milk is pure fat, it is the cows fat, liquified.
but the point is, eating healthy, if u want to drink milk (try to make it organic) and eggs, eat much more fresh veggies and fruit as ur main foods, then some rice or other grains, then the other stuff.
stay away from animal dirived fats
sugers or artificial sweetners (try stevia, agave necter, or maple syrup)
no sodas or bottled drinks at all (except pure water)
and exercise alot

It depends on your lifestyle, but I would think a vegan diet would work better for they have a stricter diet, but vegetarian diets are great too. Just be careful with the amount of dairy and eggs you consume. Plus you could go between vegan or vegetarian diets as you please, it's your choice.

I'd recommend vegetarian because it's hard to get protein on a vegan diet, and the way you say you're eating it sounds like you'll lose weight.
