Why do vegetarians call it bologna and meat eaters call it baloney?!
Why do vegetarians call it bologna and meat eaters call it baloney?
Answers:
mine has a first name and it's OSCAR.
I bet yours is named BOB or MIKE.
Do they make girl bologne? If so can we name is Suzy or Lucy or some other weird girl name that sounds old. Of course with an old sounding name, people might think that the meat is old and not want to eat it.
Where is my drink? I thought I was drinking a fuzzy navel but I think I lost it somewhere. If you find it let me know because I am thirsty
thanks sister MArgaret. Hey, when are you gonna be "Mother Margaret"? yhou know, a top nun and all that?
It's kinda cold outside. What happened? It was all hot all week and now it's suppose to rain. what the heck? I want to go barefoot in my yard and not worry about frost bite.
My cats that live outside are shedding. Should I help them along and trim their hair? I don't think they'd mind but then I have to wait until its a little warmer. I could do a lion cut on my one cat. That would be funny but he's get mad.
Let me knwo when you find my drink.
Actually, it is called "Bolono" if you want a real name for that.
never heard of that one?
Vegetarians know how to spell better.

i have no idea. I think it has to do with how people want to say it
"Bologna" is how it's technically spelled - baloney is a phonetic spelling, like the difference between "through" and "thru". I think the reason vegetarians know how to spell it more often is the same reason we know what all of those little preservatives and other food additives are - we just tend to read ingredients labels much more often than meat-eaters.
Edit: Ah, and this is just a generalization based on what I've noticed in the U.S., it's not that we're smarter, we just (usually) read more about ingredients, whereas meat-eaters, for example, (usually) know more about where the best steakhouses are... it's part of the lifestyles.
I always called it bologna and it was the meat version (if what it is is actually meat - looks more like play-dough). Maybe it's a regional thing? Baloney is used when you are talking nonsense, not in regard to the foodstuff.
I knew the term 'baloney' when I was in grade school. After growing I learned to call that deli meat as 'bologna', right?
Happy holiday weekend and keep eating lots of meat.
I don't think the spelling bologna is limited to vegetarians, this is the original italian spelling of the word, baloney is the American, basterdized version.
If you ever saw an Oscar Mayer commercial then you know that it's spelled b-o-l-o-g-n-a.
I eat meat and have always spelled it bologna. That's the right way to spell it.
Aren't those kids on the Oscar Meyer commercials just adorable ?
