is there anything at all we can do about this person? i would very much like to see this person 'gone'.

I am new here, but I have already used the "report abuse" button a few times. Maybe if you just keep reporting it and stress in your report that it has been a consistent pest someone will finally make it go away for good! There's strength in numbers. Ignoring it is probably a good idea, too. Not that this whole post helps in that regard!
I'd say that we all should just stop responding. Its like a kid, the more you pay attention the more the tantrum continues. If you ignore than it will stop.
I assume it will happen much like ignoring a screaming child. They will continue on as normal for a short time, when they get no responses, they will up the ante. Post more probably, and then the behaviour will extinguish.
So as of this moment I will no longer reply, or even read what sister Margret says, and I hope others will join me. Let other trollers answer her/him.
I'm of the (admittedly idealistic) opinion that reasonable people can see each others' POV with enough dialogue between them, and I've talked to Sister M in e-mail before and he's more reasonable than his constant questions make him seem. I don't think answering the questions makes people post more so much as posting angry answers. Calm answers, either serious or amusing, can turn a silly or rude question into a constructive dialogue, or at least a funny one.
Ignore the person. He/she feeds on attention. Giving it to him/her makes it worse.

I have no idea...protest? report her? Give her really mean comments with exclamation points and caps lock on? Or just inform her about why she is wrong. That's just crazy enough to work.
My suggestion is that if she offends you just skip to the next question, or if she sends an offencive reply either give her a thumbs down of if it is abusive report her.
