Im looking for healthy nutritious dessert ideas. What are your favorites?
One that I like is sliced strawberries on angel food cake topped with light cool whip. It's easy and YUMMY!
Im looking for more ideas like this that isnt really an involved recipe, but just something yummy to throw together. If it includes, fruit, then Im even happier!!
Thanks!

What about a handful of dried fruit (like apricots, figs, dates) and a handful of nuts finely chopped (use food processor), with a spoon of 100% fruit content jam/ confiture ( you can add some flaxseed, too), shaped into bite-size balls and rolled in cocoa powder?
I am actually making this later today. I don't really like dried figs and dates, but apricots are PERFECT with cocoa. This desert is best if you cool it in the fridge first.

Another one of my favourites is strawberries with cold cocoa custard ( I use the Alpro Soya custard, or I make it myself). If you feel especially naughty, you can break some biscuits on top.

When I have lots of apples that need to be eaten very soon (or they'll go bad), I make an apple crumble. Just mix some flour with some sort of fat, like dairy -free spread, and sugar, until the mixture resembles bread crumbs. Put into a baking tray. Top with loads of diced or grated apples. Add cinnamon, sugar and lemon juice to taste. Bake for cca 40 minutes.
Yum!
any fruit, banana
Have you ever tried a combination of orange and chocolate? It's fantastic. Melt some good chocolate, and with a toothpick, dip orange segments. To die for!
I love fruit too. Well Dark Chocolate is also good for you. How about Fondue. Melt yourself some good Dark Chocolate and cut up some fruit (all kinds like banana, strawberries, pineapple, anything you like). Dip the fruit in the chocolate and enjoy.
cottage cheese and fresh fruit like blueberries
sugar free smuckers jelly and fat free cream cheese on whole wheat bagel
This is what I made last night:
2 chopped apples and a tablespoon of raisins tossed with a teaspoon of honey and a tablepoon of water and then topped with a mixture of rolled oats, a tablspoon of brown sugar and just a drizzle of "margarine" - bake at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes.
I'd rather have a little bit of sugar than ANYTHING with artificial sweeteners. Don't confuse low-calorie with nutritious!
Here's another of my favorites:
Follow the recipe for honeybee no-bakes here:

but I bastardize the heck out of it and add all kinds of other things: cashew butter with grapefruit honey or crunchy peanut butter or chopped walnuts or sesame seeds - you can get really creative! I don't even measure anymore. I just throw together oat bran, honey, coconut and some kind of nut butter and roll them into balls. I almost always have a plate of them in my fridge for a quick snack.
Enjoy! Dessert doesn't have to be a dirty word!
Fruit- it's nature's candy.

Any sliced fruit mixed with plain yogurt, drizzle on some honey, top with wheat germ or grainola
Spread some peanut butter on a corn tortilla, put a couple of dabs of butter in it, cover with another corn tortilla, drizzle honey on the top with another pat of butter. Microwave for 45 seconds. MMMM
pumpkin pie. or there are crepes with strawberries and this strawberry sauce stuff that you make yourself. or scones with fruit and home made sauce type things. they are really good
Fruit Salad
Homemade granola bars: Quick Oats, and Honey. Just mix together, and let sit in fridge for about 1 hr. You may also want to add dried fruit to it. Make your own trail mix w/ dried fruit, nuts, and if you feel the urge to cheat sometimes, chocolate goes with everything. EVERYTHING! =)
Smoothies make great desserts. Use your choice of fruits, yogurt or frozen yogurt and a little fruit juice to get thet desired consistency. You can make these with any combination of ingredients, just blend all in a blender. I have even taken extra smoothies and frozen them in popsicle molds and eaten like an ice cream bar. That is REALLY good and easy!
I love Peanut Butter. If your a pb fan then i would suggest that you can put pb in a bowl and melt it in the microwave then dip a banana in it. mmmmmmm. yummy
